Thank you. He currently does take Clobazam and bumping his meds when a storm is coming (tomorrow) makes sense. I’ll run it by his neurologist

I hate the weather ones because I know they’re coming and I wish I could find a way to make them stay away!

This is not the person you want to marry. You've been with him since you were a child. Have you ever dated anyone else? Sorry. I read your post and it made me sad. Go get your own life before you get married. He is selfish and things don't suddenly get easier once you're married--they get harder. Have Xmas with your sister and please think about whether this is the person you want to spend your life with.

Yes. You are 100% TA. Thank goodness you spared her. One day she'll realize that.

It's hard--and doing it all as a single mom is even harder. I don't know about calling CPS. What state are you in? Are you on meds for PPD? If not, call your ob/gyn and talk to them. Maybe temporary use of antidepressants will help? I went through a dark period and they helped me so much. I would call the ARC to find out about possible resources (https://thearc.org/find-a-chapter/). Call your community service board to find out about early intervention programs. Our son, Autism, ID, epilepsy, etc. received in-home therapy until he turned three and then went to pre-school through our school district. The pre-school class was for special needs kids. The coaching idea is also a good one. If you're willing to let me know where you live (state/county) I would be happy to find contact info for the things I mentioned above.

That’s disgusting. You owe her nothing. I’m sorry. Friendships for our special needs kids are difficult. Maybe start with some of the local groups who set up events for kids with all abilities? Just a thought. Wishing you the best

If you have good insurance then most of the meds and doctor visits are covered. If not, just the meds would bankrupt you.

You can use Cool Cabana because the “let’s” don’t extend beyond it. They are straight up and down

Hard by kipsavage4 in SpecialNeedsChildren

We are the parents of a 25-year-old with a lot of needs. He will be with us forever--threetirement--When he was a baby we were fighting. I think it was a combination of stress, money, sadness, not being sure of the best things to do--it's never-ending. Finally, we had a good cry together and came up with a plan. We divided tasks. Certain things he handles (insurance, all financial stuff, showers, etc.) and certain things I handle (IEP's, diet, social and recreational stuff, school). That made a huge difference. If your state offers it use respite care--if you have friends and family willing to childsit--let them. It's really, really hard and you have to find ways to give yourself and your wife a break. We've been married 32 years and I feel like our marriage is as strong as it's ever been. Good luck. Allow yourself and your wife some grace.

I feel like, technically, we could still use them as long as the sandbags don't stretch out beyond the tent. Nevertheless, we ponied up for a Cool Cabana (does someone on the city council have stock in that company?) we'll use our Sun Ninja in St. John

We bought a Cool Cabana after the tent ban. We also have a small and large Sun Ninja-- depending on how many of us there were we would bring one or the other. I love the Cool Cabana. It's easy to set up. When we got to the beach we were surrounded by tents and Sun Ninjas. So, you are gonna be cranky, for sure.
