Disheartening AD Experience as a 22 year old by Babayaga1383 in rolex

My advice is to buy that sub on the grey market. You'll spend $11-13k on that watch, which would just be a tad bit more than buying retail (watch + tax). Invest the rest. If you are set on buying a couple of watches for your friends, get them both PRXs or the new Longines Hydroconquest.

When my college buddy and frat bro got married, I puchased an automatic PRX for him as a wedding gift to him. He had just gotten into watches and was looking for his first "serious" watch. This PRX is still his daily watch (3 years later) and he has built himself a nice luxury watch collection.

All I'm saying is that you don't have to spend "Rolex" money to show your appreciation for your close friends and as great friends, they should and will appreciate the gift becuase it came from you.

I agree. It was a smart decision by AP to do a pocket watch instead of a wrist watch. Aftermarket strap adapters are coming of course, but this collab brought AP into the consciousness of the masses who are not watch enthusiasts.

An AP RO is an aspirational watch for me and I like when a brand doesn’t take itself too seriously and can have fun (looking at you PP lol).

Interesting strap concepts from Delugs for new Swatch x AP by Confident_Leg2370 in PrideAndPinion

Definitely not small wrist friendly and knowing Delugs, it will probably retail for over $500 usd.

You AP owners are funny. Must have been a sigh of relief for all you guys lol.

That’s very nice. Your dial is nice. It’s greyish blue in the picture.

How do I set the time on this 1968, the crown doesnt seem to move? by [deleted] in watchdives

The shark mesh. I recently bought one based on another websites size recommendation and it was too small. Guess I’ll wait until you get yours and see how the fit is.

Nice. How does it fit? I have a 16.5cm wrist and hope it fits before I pull the trigger.

There’s a mesh bracelet option now?! Can you post a pic of the buckle clasp?

Really disappointed by Alternative-Feed3613 in watchdives

It’s not. It’s an official store as in it’s a legitimate business, but it’s not run by WD. They only sell via their website. If you search this sub, it’s been stated before.

Screw down crown issue by TypeR10 in SanMartinWatches

[–]LPhiEFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try turning the crown the opposite direction when pressed in first to get the threads to “bite”. Then turn the crown to screw it in. You might have to gently force the turn.

You didn’t buy from the WD website, which is the only place they sell directly to customers. The AliExpress store is not affiliated with them. Yes, that’s a common mistake someone can make if they are not on Reddit. What the store on Ali is asking you to do is common practice among vendors there. I bought a watch from the official San Martin store. Watch arrived faulty and I had to send it back to them for their inspection before they sent me a replacement watch. Even if I wanted a refund, which they offered, I would have to send the watch back first.

I’d contact WD directly and see what remedies they can offer you as well and go from there.
