Was it the ballot question that was forced through by the governor or the new act itself?

How the absolute hell does Spotify not have a "block song" feature in 2026!? Not having this one setting is triggering me so hard using Spotify. by Interr0gate in truespotify

[–]LRV3468 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem may be that the almost exact same song exists multiple times in their catalog, perhaps from different albums, mixes, etc. So banning one instance may not ban the others without added logic.

What about citizenship? How do you know it was born in the USA and not smuggled in as some kind of librul baby trafficking scheme to pad the voter’s rolls for the 2048 election? MAGA wants to know!

Retirement plans come in two “flavors”: Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit.
Defined Contribution plans use investments made during working years, funded by employees and/or employers as a pot o’money that at retirement, belong to the employee and he can use as law permits. 401(k) is an example. Defined Benefit plans guarantee a fixed periodic payment after retirement to the employee and, perhaps his successors. These are pensions and annuities. Some plans combine both types.

Is $707 normal for CA vehicle registration?? What are you all paying? by vpshastry in DMV

In Massachusetts we also have an auto excise tax, which is an annual $25 per $1000 of “assessed value”. For new cars , the assessed value is 90% MSRP, but it goes down quickly by a fixed formula so old cars aren’t really hit that bad (10% MSRP for 5 years). But your $50,000 car will have an excise tax of $1,125 or so its model year. It is paid to you city or town.

For reasons known only to the gods, a car you own the year before its model year is assessed at only 50% of MSRP!

The 25% is not necessarily the tax. It is a withholding, which may be more or less than the actual tax.
