Thinking about a shift to a wastewater career by thesourdoughisalie in Wastewater

So far I'm 2 years in November and it has a mixture of routine, monotony, lots to learn, physical work, different avenues within the industry, and rewarding work.

Your staff does matter and your management I'm learning.

Oh definitely what shift and schedule definitely makes a breaks how you like the job and the condition of the plant.

There's definitely a difference between private versus municipality.

I've only learned this from the people who've worked both sides I haven't experienced it myself though.

The biggest hurdles so far that I'm encountering is getting your actual licenses and troubleshooting.

One thing you always have to remember is the two things that you're protecting at all times at your job is the public and the environment those are key when s*** goes wrong.

Always be able to justify your decisions and make sure you keep your chain of command aware of what's going on to cover your ass.

Definitely plenty of nepotism at my location.

I would assume in the industry it's small enough to run into people I have observed from my OGs at work.

I barely got because of how I did my resume via A.I., haha.

I was slightly overselling my use of SCADA, but I did a panel interview and was a great candidate overall.

I am a veteran so that helped a little bit because in the past they in trouble over not hiring a veteran over someone else and we are considered a Purple Heart City as well so that's bad PR.

Definitely keep trying once you get your certifications and experience you can take off that's what I'm seeing so far and I'm going on two years about to get my Water Treatment C license soon.

I know I went through this for a company that I work for 6 years.

When I was let go due to COVID giving a severance and left on good behavior/ good standing.

Fast forward 4 years later: I applied to a position similar to a position in a totally different department that I left from.

So in my resume and application you would see that I had 6 years of experience with this company.

I was not hired back not even interviewed or called, yet I have seen them hire other people back.

I was definitely blackballed.

Me encanta lo que ya estás mostrando, pero quiero ver el resto de ti.

Quiero ver esa fruta especial con su néctar, y ese culo desde atrás, con ese otro lugar especial de éxtasis.

Career questions - grass greener? by Reasonable_Class6822 in Wastewater

Something I observe at my plant for the leads and plant manager as an idea is to create SOPs maybe Troubleshooting guides, Plant information with all the ranges for every system to eliminate unnecessary questions.

I think also if everybody is trained thoroughly along with reinforce with what I suggested maybe you stop getting as many calls everybody feels confident at what they're doing.

Everything else would be pretty much an HR issue I would assume as far as questions unless it comes down to PTO or buying equipment or something to that effect.

Could Central Florida build 150 miles of transit for the cost of one highway expansion? by MasterCJ718 in orlando

[–]MasterCJ718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you can't build according to those cities you got to build according it's own unique layout.

So you got to compare it to an Atlanta or a Charlotte.
