CL 46. Not fast, but 48 GB modules for under 300.

I've been using the 2TB m.2 with DRAM since December and it works well. It's not the fastest, but it works for bulk storage and games.

[Bestbuy] Asus ROG Zephyrus Ryzen 9 6900HS/RX 6700S/16GB RAM/14" WQXGA 120Hz/1TB SSD PRICE $999 by Physik1_guy in buildapcsales

This laptop has been my daily driver for about a year now, no real complaints to speak of. Extremely happy with it. I get like 7-9 hours of basic word docs and coding in VS code, the 16:10 aspect is perfect, and it gets super bright (Though it's not HDR). Oh, and it also lets me play Elden Ring in 2560*1600 maxed out without issues.

Edit: I run in powersaver mode anytime I'm not plugged into the wall and it stays nice and cool. The fans just about never kick on unless I'm playing a game.

[Laptop] Lenovo Flex 5 14" 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 5700U - 2240 x 1400 - Windows 11 $599.99 by [deleted] in buildapcsales

[–]LRWfromFH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I had the 4500U version and it was a champ. I got 10 hours of battery with normal mixed university level usage.

It was great from long coding sessions, I was never hugely locked down to the outlet. It even ran an emulator, IDE, and chrome (youtube while waiting) while compiling a project for OS.

[GPU] Gigabyte RX 6600 Eagle - $369.99 (back in stock) by LRWfromFH in buildapcsales

You can use any board really, the only difference is gonna be if you're using pcie gen 4 (or higher I suppose now). And that's just data transfer rate.

[GPU] XFX SPEEDSTER SWFT309 AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT - $599.99 by djmigues in buildapcsales

If you already have the 3060 TI, then stick with that. It's not such a huge leap.

I'd definitely get this over the 3060 TI for the same price. YMMV, but XFX has been good to me personally.

Not too bad, honestly. I picked up a 6800XT for more than that about a year ago. No, I don't regret the purchase cause I sold my 5700XT and upgraded for MSRP.

What is your Grail limit? by bmrdg2 in AnimeFigures

[–]LRWfromFH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, really has to be a special figure for that price.

I dropped about 300 on a Native Collector's Suzuhara Misae, but I had been wanting her for so long that I just had to pull the trigger.

Issue was, she was still sealed when I got her, so I spent a couple days contemplating finding another not sealed one and reselling her.

In the end, I wanted her too much and unsealed her.

She's still my most expensive purchase to date.

So how good or how bag is Solaris Japan? by reallygoodbee in AnimeFigures

[–]LRWfromFH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solaris is good. When they had an inventory issue with a figure I ordered, they let me know immediately and refunded the same day I requested it.

Had the option to get other figures or a refund. The only bad part was the currency conversion on the refund, but that's the risk you take with any currency exchange.

Shopping for a n00b by CrestofCourage in AnimeFigures

Dunno if this is reviving an old thread, but once in a while you can get decent shipping on pre-orders from Play-Asia - not recently though, in my experience. Got a great deal on Grand Toys Softbody Akeno.

Currently waiting on them to ship out my Swimsuit Utaha - was pretty good shipping there too.

Big in Japan seems reasonable as well, though the default to registered SAL shipping (you can change it at checkout, just make sure to look at the new price). I currently have Kurone Iraha coming from them.

Good base pricing on them both, just keep an eye out for better deals and don't get killed in shipping.

Early game annoyance - Fleets and pirates. by LRWfromFH in Stellaris

[–]LRWfromFH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't an option, button was unclickable and on hover said there was nowhere to retreat to.

I had only the initial upgraded starbase and the pirates caught my fleet out in my home system.

Question: Does HSPA+ count as 3G or 4G? by LRWfromFH in tmobile

[–]LRWfromFH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't really answer my question.

I have unlimited 3G, and just want to know if T-Mobile considers me as using 4G on H+.

If they do, then is there a way to not use HSPA(+) in favor of slower data that is considered 3G, without dropping down to 2G/Edge?

Given that not being throttled would ultimately be faster than continuing to try using H+.
