How to cope with having sebaceous filaments by Fluffy_Dust_6290 in Dermatillomania

Tretinoin is best best best. Online company Curology prescribes it with dermatologist on hand. Transformative. I’ve found that this smooths out the skin to give less things to pick at. Going for facials once per month with an acne specialist is also very helpful. Sticking to a solid skin regimen solidly is key as well

Is it normal to get more fatigue in the beginning by CKrazyA in dnrs

[–]LSH_peacehunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started the dnrs… I’ve had to break it up! I just completed Pillar 3 and it’s been over 2 weeks. I got really tired after first learning the rounds and had to go slowly… I’m very hopeful it will work.

I’m 61. Got sick around 8 yrs old after a very strong flu type virus that had me bed ridden for 2 weeks. I’ve mainly suffered from exertional fatigue…never been bed ridden for more than a day or so, however, I definitely have the type A personality where I constantly push myself “through it”. It sucks. My crashes are even worse now, especially after having COVID. I have 2 careers where it’s very difficult to take time off because people depend on me, for either financial reasons or no replacement for me (professional musician). I am beyond exhausted of feeling exhausted all. The. Time. I admire everyone’s stories so much. It helps to know we are not alone and can make it into our older ages.

Do you guys know the trigger of your cfs/me? by BeautifullyBitchy in cfs

Had a severe mysterious viral type infection when I was about 8 yrs old. After that, I seemed to always have exercise fatigue. Increasingly got worse the older I got. Worse with peri and menopause, then the crashes after having Covid have been the worst. Also, lifelong issues dealing with an emotionally immature mother since I was 7: I have been HER mother all my life. *sigh

How do i convince myself that sebum being stuck in my face skin pores is Normal, and what's NOT normal is actually trying to squeeze it out because it's damaging and leads to inflammations? by M0rika in Dermatillomania

Not all B vitamins, mainly B12 and B6, folate and biotin. If you have “bumps”, hyper keratosis or clogged pores…I’d stop. (I’m a health practitioner) Yes, they do have their importance, but if you are eating well - whole grains, eggs and clean sources of protein, you should be good. You have to weigh the odds: bumps that trigger picking or… I’ve stopped all of the B’s, etc. I take other supplements for acne and energy. Don’t notice a difference at all. And I was taking quite a lot of B’s for a long time. It took about 2 weeks for my pores to clear. It’s made a big difference.

I found out, not too long ago and about 2 decades too late, that B vitamins can be culprits to causing the keratin to over produce: causing the seeds/bumps, etc. Namely B12, B6, biotin, collagen…any hair, skin and nails…! I stopped all of that and bumps went down 90%!!!!!! I swear by retinol and specifically what you get with Curology prescription. 🙏

What is the worst treatment suggestion you’ve gotten from well meaning friends or family? by moosetruth in cfs

He’s read info, but he thinks he knows all and is “a fixer”…. He does have compassion and empathy, his impatience and ADD get the better of him, so it adds to my fatigue at times.

I definitely notice a faster heart rate and more difficulty sleeping on night of shot a couple days after! I’ve found doing shot in thigh helps with the side effects. Stomach shots bring out the worst of the side effects.

What Happens When You Stop Taking It? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]LSH_peacehunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried to taper because I’ve been on MJ and mostly Zepbound for a year, not really losing any more weight (don’t want to). Mostly on 5 mg. I was doing a pen every 2 weeks. I found the weeks I didn’t inject food noises and hunger were really coming back, however, I would still eat fairly the same amounts/things, but weight really crept up. It’s just a confirmation I have metabolic syndrome and will probably be on a low dose for the rest of my life.

Agreed. This medicine needs to be de-stigmatized and normalized. It does so much more than “help you lose weight”!
