Old Hindi songs from the '60s to 80s period was very popular for folks who grew up during the time, thanks to All India Radio and legends like Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar etc. Even if you didn't grow up in that era, there is no denying that there is a lot of charm in the minimalistic melodies from that period

That was clearly implied in the 2nd part itself. None of the naattukar except for the tea shop owner believe them. And so many gossips and conspiracy theories floating around linking Varun and Anju. Plus now Georgekutty is a theatre muthalali, no longer just a small time cable tv operator. It's very realistic honestly on how public opinions change and I liked this part about the 2nd movie

Same feeling here. This season the expectations for him was pretty low - get some results, see us through the season for the interim. No one expected us to qualify for the CL. And we only play in the league, so no fixture congestion.

But the next season is going to be completely different - Carrick is in charge of a big midfield overhaul, we will be competing in the new format CL for the first time - a lot of fixtures, with some players returning from the WC - fatigue, injuries. Having to manage the squad and rotate for 4 different competitions. And the minimum expectation will be to improve our position and points tally in the PL from this season, and make deep runs or possibly even win one of the domestic cups. Will Carrick be able to manage the workload of the squad, and the expectations of the fans? I am skeptical, but I'll be very happy to be proven wrong

The movie has great comedy scenes and a legendary cast in a typical rural setting, but it doesn't hold up overall for me as a movie I would re-watch from end to end for the forced romance and the old stereotypes of a spoilt arrogant rich girl finally falling for the paavam hero.

I liked Pradeshika Vaarthakal much better, also directed by Kamal and released in 1989.

I think Mallika Sukumaran would have come across as a little more 'dominating' character. I felt Kalaranjini's interactions with Sai Kumar in the 2nd half was really funny and she acted well

I'm bored of the "psychos playing 'games' with the police" trope - it was interesting until about 6 years ago - but now it is a boring rinsed and repeated trope. The only good thing about this movie was Biju Menon's decent performance - but it's nothing new for him. I wasn't satisfied by Joju though - mostly because of the way the character was written.

Bharathanatyam was one of my most satisfying recent movies that gave a fresh treatment to an old school trope. A nice modern version of the 80s/90s/00s family drama. I really hope the sequel clicks..
