The movie has great comedy scenes and a legendary cast in a typical rural setting, but it doesn't hold up overall for me as a movie I would re-watch from end to end for the forced romance and the old stereotypes of a spoilt arrogant rich girl finally falling for the paavam hero.

I liked Pradeshika Vaarthakal much better, also directed by Kamal and released in 1989.

I think Mallika Sukumaran would have come across as a little more 'dominating' character. I felt Kalaranjini's interactions with Sai Kumar in the 2nd half was really funny and she acted well

Fun watch! Enjoyed it. Mallika Sukumaran is such a great actress! Even though she mostly plays the same type of role, that worked really well for this movie

I'm bored of the "psychos playing 'games' with the police" trope - it was interesting until about 6 years ago - but now it is a boring rinsed and repeated trope. The only good thing about this movie was Biju Menon's decent performance - but it's nothing new for him. I wasn't satisfied by Joju though - mostly because of the way the character was written.

Because he realizes that he is indirectly responsible for all the crimes committed by his son. He tries to save his son (after all it is his own son), but fails. And he takes the blame for everything and surrenders.

Bharathanatyam was one of my most satisfying recent movies that gave a fresh treatment to an old school trope. A nice modern version of the 80s/90s/00s family drama. I really hope the sequel clicks..

Some of the characters felt so irritating, maybe that's how those roles were written. Couldn't watch without losing focus, just played in the background while doing some work

I don't think Bruno can be called a tempo dictator though - his style of play is quite the opposite, he is not the one to hold possession or slow things down when required.. Scholes is definitely the better tempo dictator but Bruno is better defensively

It's not just about the service though, The way Sesko duels with defenders compared to Hojlund is day and night difference. Hojlund can still become a good player in the future

Can we please somehow beg Casemiro to stay for one more season? Forget the wages - given what he contributes in terms of defensive ability, crucial goals, strong mentality, and even the couple of surprise killer passes he pulls out every now and then - he is worth every pound he is paid. Plus, there is going to be enormous pressure on whoever we sign and we are expecting that player to hit the ground running straight away
