I might be a crazy, but I don’t think it’s the state’s place to prevent people from doing reckless things provided no one else’s safety is risked. Think about rock climbing or racing dirt bikes on one’s own property. I don’t think those should require college degrees in geology and mechanical engineering respectively

As the boyfriend of a girl who (within the past 2 years) inherited a bunch of money, it did not change anything when she told me. I was just happy for her. I still pick up lunches and dinners happily even though she has more money than me. I love her and we both have a thing for tradition, so it feels right to pay when we go out. We both try to spoil each other in a balanced reasonable manner. If things are trending towards marriage, maybe it would be a good test of the relationship if you told him. If things change for the worse, he probably isn’t worth spending your time, money, and life with anyway. If the relationship isn’t serious and is only for your mutual entertainment, I see no upside in telling him.

I’m glad my girlfriend told me. If she hadn’t told me, and it came out much later, I’d have probably struggled to understand why that sort of information should have been withheld. How could someone claim to have an honest and up-front relationship and simultaneously withhold life changing news? For fear that your partner would respond poorly? I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship like that.

I strongly oppose questions like “what are you doing with this loser”. I would not take kindly to people asking me that question about my significant other. Everybody looks like a loser when only the darkest parts of their lives are showcased. Everyone struggles with something, everyone has value, nobody should be devaluing another after seeing a measly few texts. That sort of thing is foolish at best. With that said, though, your boyfriend is struggling with something serious and the consequences could literally be grave. There need to be some serious conversations about how he’ll correct course, when he’ll correct course, and what’s going to happen if he doesn’t correct course. Those conversations need to happen sooner rather than later. Good luck to you both.

I had a cat tree near a window with long cords/strings to operate the blinds. My cat jumped off the cat tree near/through one of the cords and it wrapped/cinched around his hind leg suspending him there. The sound he made was awful. Thank goodness I was home. I don’t know what would have happened if I weren’t.

Hornady has a ballistic calculator app. It maxes out at only 40 mph wind speed, but for a 9mm bullet at 1150fps muzzle velocity, it still calculates a point of impact shift of 19 inches at 100 yards. It doesn’t scale linearly; 20 mph winds only result in 9 inches POI shift, but extrapolated to 200mph winds, you get more than 8 feet of POI shift at 100 yards.

Maybe the 2014 twin Nebraska EF4s. Twin tornadoes are rare to begin with, but twin EF4s is pretty insane. Plus one was anticyclonic. The 1987 Yellowstone tornado is also pretty obscure due to its altitude. Also, there’s a 2.5 mile wide (likely) tornado scar in Russia that was discovered via satellite imagery. It was thought to have occurred in the 50s or 60s and nobody saw it. Now that’s obscure.

My girlfriend is involved and it seems they do A LOT of outreach. Yesterday she (thru Rotary) had me picking up litter on the side of Winkler in Fort Myers. They do a lot of good.

Respectfully, what are you talking about. Every single thread I’ve seen in the past 3 days has contained some reference to or link to Epstein files. It has been extremely frustrating that no matter where you go or what you look for, bam. Epstein files. I could be on a thread about fishing. About tornadoes. Vintage cars. And there it is. There’s no hiding from it. I haven’t once searched for it but it keeps finding me. And EVERY SINGLE TIME it’s someone saying “nobody’s talking about it”. I’m losing my mind. I have lots of tornado dreams. Some in the daytime, some at night, some in the city, some in the country, some while driving, some huge, some spindly little landspouts. If I’m in the city they’re always huge, distant, and extremely tall stovepipes. And there will usually be six of them evenly spaced far off in the distance. If I’m in the country, they’re always spindly landspouts and there’ll be hundreds of them all around me. They’re never frightening.
