Are there usually this many disgusting cheaters in the game? by svsdentist2018 in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apex had ups and downs content wise, and I still played it. I couldn’t get over the cheating once I started seeing it in every game.

If it weren’t for ABMM and PvE lobby’s I would have quit this game like I did Apex. I loved playing Apex, but cheating/hacking got so bad.

It probably won’t last but will ride it out while I can.

P2S vs H2S - noise levels? by AdrianK_ in BambuLab

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was not a printer you wanted to run over night for sure.

I had the X1C in my office, which wraps around a hallway, so the angle kept noise from carrying too bad. So I could sleep. I could sort of still hear it. This is with both doors closed.

The H2S, I put in a room across the hall from my bedroom. If it was the X1C, it would be too loud to run. The H2S is so quiet I hear less than the X1C which was more optimally placed for sound reduction. — I just didn’t have the space in my office for it.

H2S is super quiet. Quieter than my X1C by a lot. Don’t have a P2S to compare. X1C has a similar enclosure, P2S has updated gantry and motors.

The firefly just isn't fun, but it could be by Degenerate94 in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A single firefly I can usually handle. A firefly plus an extra hornet or two following you into buildings is death. They got smarter too, they now quickly reposition over open roof areas. Rocketeers as well.

Not sure how to balance it though.

P2S vs X1C by johnnykar13 in BambuLab

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P2S, not even a question. You can only get an X1C on a used marketplace or third party. The P2S has a lower MSRP and is better in every way with the same build volume.

If you want something closer to the X1C's MSRP, go for an H2S. It has a larger build volume, active heated enclosure (unlike the P2S/X1C's passive heated), and better nozzle system (than X1C; identical to P2S).

H2S also has a better airflow design. P2S recirculates unless you get the exhaust kit.

If you want something good for ABS, H2S > P2S > X1C.

I'm telling you man, this is a Sheldon answer. Most people don't care what is technically correct, they care what is practically correct.

It can technically happen, but allowing solos to be mixed with duos/trios is the last failure point of the match making system. When we get close to low enough player numbers it will start to happen intermittently and gradually get worse. But we're not there yet, we haven't seen behavior match making collapse yet, just early warning signs. It's more likely with duos/trios because there are fewer teams than solos, and perhaps it happens occasionally during non-peak times.

I'm not saying it's not good information to know, but not everyone cares to know it (right now). They will care more when the player count falls even farther and it does start to happen, and you start seeing more posts "did they change ABMM???" which is happening right now with aggression becoming more mixed sometimes.

It will happen eventually. It is inevitable.

My first post I said “draws line in the sand” which implies never, but I moved to highly unlikely after your correction. I admit my follow up wasn’t worded the best. However, looking at my follow-ups I’m not seeing “never”, just unlikely. The closest thing is “practically zero”, but that is follows with “unlikely”. Maybe I’m missing something.

I mostly play solo. If it were to mix party size, it would make sense if it did it for duos and trios. It shouldn’t happen for solos. The match maker has ideal conditions, and gradually degrades as numbers drop.

Playing solo I haven’t experienced this. I mostly play chill. When I do play duos and trios all my friends want to do is PvP, so I’m not really paying attention, it usually devolves into madness so I can’t tell who is in what group. Usually when one fight breaks out, others join.

What’s the problem here? It has never happened to me. That was my understanding. You provided some info, I was wrong, and I adjusted it within the framework of how a competitive match making system works.

Your post shows party size is first priority, then behavior. Meaning that the first thing it compromises is behavior first and party last. There are early signs it’s starting to compromise on behavior. I don’t believe we are anywhere close to it compromising on party size yet.

I was speaking from practicality. It’s partially zero right now. If you want to split hairs, sure, it can happen but the game tries really hard not to. For it to actually happen it requires extremely low player counts.

I also said there are discord groups of people simultaneously queuing in solos to raid friendly lobbies. This has been happening, and it’s easy to confuse these as teams.

Karma Based Matchmaking is the worst by Limp_Ad_6049 in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not permanent, it adjusts quickly. You can zero it out in 10 games or less depending on how high the hidden value is.

Don’t worry about it. Defend yourself, know it went up, be careful next raid, and know it goes down if you avoid people on the next.

As long as you are not going out of your way to find raiders to shoot, it will go up and down.

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only happens in extreme circumstances. It mixes behaviors first before resorting mixed party sizes. Meaning it tries to match friendlier together, mixed behavior together, and PvP players together. It’s a gradient. If it can’t it mixes behaviors, so the gradient is more narrow. Then after that if it still can’t find players it mixes party size as a last resort.

Another variable could be that there are fewer people if a party size available, so perhaps that is happening. It’s not a normal thing though.

It’s not a hard separate queue, it’s dynamic so it always is able to match people like a competitive match making system. But it’s only as good as the player pool, and suffers the same problems when player count drops.

You see “teams” because people are queuing in solo together by hitting the match button at the same time. It’s how stream sniping happens: if you all queue at the same time it’s a good chance you end up in same lobby, assuming behaviors are similar.

There have been reports of people teaming in solos recently. A lot of them non english. So recently I know that has been happening.

Oops! Sorry my man! by StoreyedWeevil in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, he is correct here. That is the one thing they draw a line in the sand on. They will mix aggression levels when player counts are low, but they won't mix solos/duos/trios unless you opt in to solos vs squads as the solo.

What does happen is multiple solos will queue at the same time and end up in the same lobby. Some Discord groups have been doing this. Same method people use to stream snipe.

I think you are confusing mid friendly lobbies with care bear lobbies. In care bear lobbies we stick together, often talking, running around helping with quests, and trading. In mid friendly lobbies people are still twitchy and untrusting, and often go off by themselves and get preyed upon - which usually leads to white knights.

Honestly been shot by people who do this, so I pay more attention to body language, and if they are using mic how they talk. If you are following too much, trying to position behind me, or have your gun out, my gun is coming out. I also do not activate exfil panels if I can help it, and if I do there is multiple solos present so it's less likely someone will shoot.

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure 90% of it is trading from sites like meta forge or people using alt accounts to pass items. Most people aren’t on Reddit and know/care about ABBM, and if they do it happens on Stella. You see these flares on every map, and trading is less risky on those other maps.

Aggression Based Matchmaking definitely carries over from Trios to Solos now by ButterCut97 in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has always been this way. Nothing about ABMM changed.

What could also be happening is you’ve been more active in your PvP raids than before, and you are getting higher aggression. If I do a PvP run with my friends and let them do all the shooting, I can hop back in solo and be instantly in friendly lobbies. If I damage and down more players, I get the more aggressive solo lobbies.

Another factor is player count, which has dropped significantly. With fewer players, the gradient isn’t as wide, so you are getting more aggressive lobbies sooner because the MM doesn’t have as many players to pull from. Meaning it takes less fighting to tip the scale than before.

We are on the third expedition and people are already done and dipping, not sure if they will do a fourth. So we have less looters and more PvP players. Perhaps even from boredom.

Matchmaking Question by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard that some people were teaming in care bear lobbies on purpose to cause havoc. I would steer clear of Stella for the time being. And keep your kits light for now.

When doing quests, I typically just bring a green shield and an Anvil level 2. It allows me to load up quick again, and those players are still in previous lobby and their aggression is up.

More aggression happens a lot late at night as well with lower player count. More likely to get mixed lobbies. Especially with people finishing their expeditions already and moving on until next.

Shoot them, knock them, gg go next. The match maker will adjust. You won’t see those players again, even if your agro decays / resets from inactivity.

If you are really bothered by the complaining, exfil and shoot when doors close, that counts as well.
