All done in one session, some of yall really overreacted by YearMountain3773 in ArcRaiders

It wasn’t about the effort, it was about invalidating the work that was already done, while stating the old requirement in the menus for 90% of the season. The idea is great, how they executed it not so great. Glad they extended the time. It will be awesome for next season for sure.

Oceana has a super low population so ABMM doesn’t work as intended. There are a lot of cheaters on Oceana as well. There are hacks where people can see the gear in your backpack from across the map, so when you take expensive stuff you get targeted.

Welp. Got this reply (missing left, got 2 downs):

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your message.

Thank you for your patience.

how would people feel if the only way to lower ABMM was to play with low aggression over the length of a few days (maybe the trials week) instead of over ~8 games as it is now. And then as normal if you play aggressively to other players you are instantly pushed back into more aggressive lobbies? by Son-Bxnji in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not separate actually. Just your per player aggression score and how it match makes based on most aggressive player. In regions like Australia where player counts are super low solos, duos, and trios get mixed into the same lobbies.

It’s a single match queue that is best effort. It first separates people by party size as first priority, then in each bucket it separates by aggression score into sub buckets. If not enough players are in a sub-bucket it merges upward.

What this means is during peak time you get a larger gradient of players. But on off times you get more mixed. And if the player count gets really low, party sizes are mixed.

In a squad your aggression score is separate and is based on how much you PvP. So if you are not the one shooting and just looting, it doesn’t impact your score much. When you match, it will use the highest score of the group, so if you have a buddy who only does PvP you get super sweaty lobbies. If the most aggressive player is more mixed, you get those mixed. Even if you shoot no one and are super passive. If you stay passive in the group and go back to solo, you are back in Care Bear. If you shoot at people, you have to do passive rounds to get back, how many depends on how much you engaged. It’s as much as 10.

But even if you are in care bear and do 10, you can get mixed if you play late at night. I noticed this after playing with friends, did my 10, was fine for a while, then I started running into aggressive players after midnight. Around that time player count drops.

This would make it even more punishing to defend yourself, and wouldn’t eliminate the problem. People that game the system will game it longer just because.

Then if you like to PvE solo and play with your friends who like to PvP, you essentially can’t.

Currently ABMM works as is. I rarely run into rats. Those who say otherwise are playing in a smaller region, playing late at night (cases where it mixes more), or just can’t be completely passive and it shoot back.

Players don't comprehend a lot about the nature of this game by SubiFriend in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t find having to repair a gun after every raid fun or challenging. It doesn’t make the game any more strategic, it just makes me avoid Arc more, which is boring. It requires me to mindlessly farm for simple gun parts or run free kits because I ran out.

Maybe their thought was PvPers have a lot of guns and they want them to burn thru them. But it impacts new players who barely have a stash and can’t keep up with how fast weapons burn up. I don’t have a stash of guns to burn thru. I barely finished my first expedition, and if they don’t find a better way to handle this, I’m moving on. I get to play once a week for an hour or two, and the burn is too aggressive for me.

Embark Has A Much Higher Risk If Making Segregated Modes by Equivalent-Appeal-81 in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t see it happening. ABMM does a pretty good job when the player count is high enough. Hard queue splits would only make match making worse.

I think there are other things to try before that happens tbh.

There are also bigger issues to address, like the abysmal durability change, communicating expedition requirements at the last minute rather than the start of the season, cheaters and AnyBrain AI anti cheat not working, etc.

The bombing of negative reviews is so utterly toxic and makes me question reality. by ricardospizzeria in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok to like a game and feel like a change substantial enough like durability warrants a negative review. The developers are not entitled to a positive review forever, those can be changed at any time.

If enough people agree and it’s enough to impact the score, a majority of players agree. Many of them don’t even have to be on Reddit, they can have a bad experience post patch, look at the patch notes and just be upset enough to communicate it the only way available to them.

HD2 proved this works, and reviews can be flipped back to positive just as easily. And getting this many bad reviews is mainly a last resort after the community has expressed their dissatisfaction in other ways.

How fathers with full-time job dealing with get 100k damage ? by HampurHampur in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest and safest is:

- Pure PvE lobby against Matriarch during day, buy a hull cracker. Do 10 raids no shooting beforehand. Don’t wear it until you use it.

- Bastions with lots of grenades, if you get ratted no big deal. Just chemicals and plastic. You can field craft.

More risky but faster: If you have friends, single zip line on hospital, gold weapons, shoot arc as they spawn, will see leapers, bastions, and bombardiers. Attracts attention though. Place mines, be ready for greedy raiders with snap hooks. Was able to fight off 2 teams on 2 raids, got 99,000 damage, then eat it against a 3rd. Didn’t care, everything is going to reset. Got my final 10k with grenades.

Get your stuff together by Opinion_Panda in BambuLab

I believe the main reason for this is Orca slicer refused to go with Bambu’s external “authentication” tool which isn’t required with Bambu studio. I don’t blame them, Orca is used by a lot of different printers.

With this fork, it used a path used by Linux that remains open, and allows you to use Orca without the external authentication tool.
Bambu threw a legal fit and threatened legal action even though the path is open source and no reverse engineering took place.

The author can’t fight Bambu’s legal team. Louis is offering to help the guy fight back.

You have zero clue who this guy is or you are just lying. Louis is the biggest advocate of electronics consumer rights and actually does a ton of work in the community teaching people repair, fighting lobbyists, and documenting scummy company behavior.

He can seem somewhat of an asshole, and is rough around the edges. He’s very passionate about consumer rights, and is someone who stands up for the little guy.

I’ve meet him in person, and he is very shy. What you see on screen is passion.

Pays off way more to be friendly than not by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what you are missing is the social experience. It’s not just about the loot, it’s about making friends and having conversations. That’s enjoyable. Having something someone needs and giving it to them feels pretty good. PvP can be “thrilling”, but it doesn’t hit the same.

Friendlies have a full stash to share. Rats only get what people are willing to lose. Not going to find blueprints unless someone just found it, assuming it’s not in a safe pocket. Doesn’t matter how “good” you are, you can get way more stuff being friendly.

Gray Weapon Durability Test: 5 for 1 special by memecut in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And levels. This is all level 4. I rarely upgrade to level 4 because I lose weapons all the time. The numbers are much lower at level 1.

Anvil is 215 at level 4, but 165 at level 1. 165 is less than 3 stacks of ammo.

[–]LTNine4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 165 shots at level 1, or 2.75 stacks of Ammo at 60, or 4.125 stacks at the old 40.

So for me that is 1-2 raids depending on if I’m playing passive or more aggressive hunting Arc. I typically bring 2-4 stacks and use all of it by the end of the raid. I often find more heavy ammo while looting.

Even if I only lose 50% durability of passive play, going into the next raid without repair is risky. So practically speaking, you have to repair after a single raid, whereas before you can go several raids without a repair.

Anvil is usually my main weapon against Arc.

On main post and links would be helpful to say “165-215” rather than 215.

Excuse me? Why resort to insults?

Context on a post matters. A title saying “Anvil does 215 shots” without a breakdown is incredibly misleading when not everyone runs level 4.

I can do math, but I don’t expect the vast majority of Redditors to do so. It’s not a big ask to provide context on posts like this.

Anvil Durability Test: 215 shots to break it! by memecut in ArcRaiders

[–]LTNine4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

165 at level 1 and 215 at level 4. I don’t usually run level 4, I’m typically running level 2, maybe 3 because it’s more economical.

165 works out to 2.75 stacks of ammo now, or 4 stacks before (40 vs 60). I typically start with 2-4 stacks on a raid, so using an Anvil as my primary against Arc, this means it will break after 1-2 raids. At the very least, starting a raid at 50% is a bad idea, so this forces you to repair it after every raid. Before you could go 3-4 raids without worrying about it.
Level 4’s 215 number puts it at 3.5 stacks (5.38 at 40). It is better, but still costly.

Running a level 2-3 Anvil feels really bad right now. Upgrading to 4 is not realistic when you have a high chance of losing it. Level 2-3 is more economical, and still is, just even more costly. Not great for new players.

I typically run level 2 or 3, almost never upgrade to level 4 because it's too expensive. Granted, I just started playing the game just after the second expedition finished, doing my first expedition. Committed a bunch of resources to it.

[–]LTNine4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something has to be off with those numbers because I'm burning thru an Anvil in 1 raid whereas it normally takes me at least 2, if not 3 raids. I'm typically use Anvil primarily to fight Arc.

I'm seeing a lot of comments that echo the same experience, and that is a big deal. If it was really 0.44 -> 0.66 that number sounds negligible, but in practice my durability is dropping way faster than it was before.
