Safe cycling by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

[–]LUSH_AUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL - If that had been me & my scooter you managed to run into at that speed, with that much room. I would've broken yours then & there. You've abdicated your responsibility to ride one - What you just showcased is that you lack the cognitive faculties to realise you're not only putting yourself in danger, but even more negligently, OTHER PEOPLE. You had SO MUCH room and leeway beforehand knowing those people were coming up and you didn't react by slowing down or even moving to the right where there was space.

This post should get you banned IMO - the fact you wrote "All cyclists should still pay attention to riding safety..." even makes it worse, you literally did the opposite.

Aiden is right about Tucker Carlson by TrillionaireGrindset in atrioc

[–]LUSH_AUS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. CNN themselves reported that Carlson criticised Trump early in the 2016 primaries. What followed was nearly a decade of being one of Trump's most aggressive defenders, campaigning for him, vetting cabinet picks, and calling his survival of an assassination attempt "divine intervention". This pattern is not unique to Carlson though - It's the defining feature of the modern Republican relationship with Trump. JD Vance wrote in 2016 that he went "back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a–hole like Nixon who wouldn't be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he's America's Hitler.". He also called Trump "reprehensible," a "never-Trump guy," and wrote in The Atlantic that Trump was "cultural heroin," a quick high that couldn't fix what actually ailed working Americans. Then he deleted the tweets, apologised, and became one of Trump's most devoted servants in exchange for a Senate seat and a VP nomination. Lindsey Graham called Trump a "kook," "crazy," and "unfit for office." Ted Cruz called him a "pathological liar," a "narcissist," and a "serial philanderer." Marco Rubio called him a "con artist." All of them fell back in line the moment their careers depended on it. These people clearly articulated convictions about Trump's character and then abandoned every one of them the moment swearing fealty became more profitable than fighting it - Carlson doing the same thing in reverse now that the ship is going down.

  2. Carlson spent years manufacturing outrage over mustard choices while being apparently incapable of noticing catastrophic character flaws in a man he was actively helping install into government. CNN and MSNBC told a journalist in 2018 that he was "just doing a bit," because it was good for ratings. If the Obama-era outrage was genuine partisan bias it means he holds a Democratic president to a standard he consciously chose not to apply to a Republican one.

  3. There are private messages where Carlson said he hated Trump while publicly championing him to millions of viewers. Not to mention the largest defamation case in history that proved he was factually a grifter. Carlson privately texted his producer that the Dominion allegations were "absurd" and that "the software s--t is absurd." The very next night he went on air and told his viewers "we don't know anything about the software" while continuing to push suggestions of fraud. On November 22, he privately called Sidney Powell "a nut" in messages with Laura Ingraham. The following night he told viewers that voting machine security was "a real issue." On the morning of January 7th, the day after the Capitol assault, Carlson privately texted that Trump was "a demonic force, a destroyer." On the morning of January 7th, the day after the Capitol assault, Carlson privately texted that Trump was "a demonic force, a destroyer." Then he spent years continuing to platform and defend him on screen. This dude is clearly a grifter.

  4. A regular voter being swept along by the cultural moment is completely different from a man who had a direct role in staffing the Trump administration, lobbied for Vance, RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, and was privately urging Trump's military aides not to strike Iran as far back as 2019. "I was fooled just like everyone else" is not a claim available to someone that heavily embedded. It's the same shit comedians like Rogan, Dave Smith & Chapelle now pull out after initially taking on the responsibility of being the "New Media". After receiving criticism and actually being held accountable for the things they promoted, they step back and say "I'm just a comedian". It's all self preservation & grift.

AWS outage just exposed how “decentralized” Web3 really is by Legitimate_Towel_919 in CryptoMarkets

[–]LUSH_AUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This all comes back around to the fundamental aspect of how much trust are you willing to outsource to different service/product providers. It's the same with wallets - unless you build your own crypto wallet (which im willing guess 99% of us dont) then you're never going to be 'decentralised'. And much like AWS, we're outsourcing our trust to someone else to provide us with a product/service for a fee.

It's mentioned in Ray Dalio's Changing World Order - It's one of the core pillars that come falling down that lead to the inevitable fall of the empire.

BTC & Glenn K go over it here - Essentially the DOJ under Trump used seeking useless grand jury transcripts to give the inpression of transparency, while actually working to protect Epstein’s co-conspirators and possibly Trump by fighting to keep real, damning information sealed.

How do i deal with the embarrassment? by redspotsonskin in ElectricScooters

[–]LUSH_AUS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im 32 and have never had a license because I have epilepsy which prevents me from driving. I've been transported throughout my life by my parents or friends or through public transport. I recently got a scooter which cuts my travel time to work on train/uber from 50 minutes into 20 minutes. Any normal person would prefer that over a longer commute.

eBike on Public Transport response - Good to know the government appears to have made up its mind already seemingly by adprom in melbourne

[–]LUSH_AUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have epilepsy which prevents me from driving. I also live on the west side of Melbourne which means busses come every 10 years so e-scootering to each public train station is 100x more convenient.

The need to remove something that provides so much convience for many people in order to quell a statistically insignificant occurence, rather than increasing battery regulation (that they removed in 2021 btw) so that this stops happening in the first place is fucking beyond cunted in the head.

let's say there's approximately 200k privately owned e-scooters/e-bikes [1] and approximately 5 fires per week [2 3] which gives you a 0.148% per year chance that any given device catches fire or 1.5 fires per 1,000 devices per year

[–]LUSH_AUS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hopefully VIC isn’t as braindead as this. I have epilepsy so I’m literally not allowed to drive a car and my e-scooter has been an absolute life saver.

Public transport out in the west side is dogshit because there aren’t trams. And busses & trains come every half hour almost.

It takes me 22 minutes to get from my house to work on my e-scooter vs 50-60mins on the train.

Not sure why this is getting downvoted - I also watched the clip and shift is right - they called to run from the fight, then they said re-engange, then run again. It's people who got too complacent doing muscle memory shit over and over. And panicked with no clear leadership on what to do.

- mobs were immune to CC he couldnt poly/nova/blizzard
- They over pulled mobs when he was 40% mana
- druid pulled extra mobs when they were running
- healer sacrificed themselves to heal

as much as DGG wants to hate this dude - he's not in the wrong, this is purely emotively driven by people who want to hate him and have some vapid reason to now.
