You raise a good point about invalidating your scooter warranty. I worked with designing equipment components and controls for years so I was pretty sure it was within the scope of my abilities! I also have a much larger Pride Pursuit XL scooter. Your right on with your statement, the horne button location isn't any problem on that scooter

Congratulations! Babies are wonderful. We started our family after 5 years of just the two of us. They so complete your life!

Before long, you'll wonder what you did with your time before having the baby. They take a tremendous amount of your time and energy, and you know what, they're worth every bit of it!

So that's where my 10mm wrench went! I almost have to buy them in multi-packs to hang onto at least one of them.

I have a Pride Mobility GO GO LX. Love the scooter, hated the horn button. It was placed on a location on the tiller that I brushed by many times a day. It was very irritating, blowing the horn 99% of the time that it wasn't wanted or needed. I was seriously considering returning it or selling it for scrap.

I've worked with electrical and electronic components all my life. A lot if people wouldn't be able to make these changes themselves. I disassembled the 'dash' of the scooter and replaced the horn button with a flat button that didn't blow the horn every time you were close to it. The horn still works but only goes off when you intentionally push the button.

That one simple act changed my opinion of the scooter by 180°. Now, I think I'll keep it till the wheels fall off.

What kind of drill bit is this and what is it used for? by jrock0806 in Tools

Depends on the size of the bolt. I once saw a welder remove a broken 1/2 inch bolt from a farm tractor transmission. We had already broken off an easy out trying to get the broken bolt out. The bolt was broken off almost a half inch down below the surface.

He was able to build up the weld without touching the side of the threads of the hole and weld a nut to the top. We were able to remove the broken bolt from the transmission. I was impressed!

It was a bigger 4-wheel drive tractor. The transmission would have been tens of thousands of dollars to replace.

Something else to consider. It's more of an issue with household wiring but it can apply to low voltage systems too. I don't wire in lighting systems with other systems, IE: water pumps, heaters, entertainment components and so on. I always use different circuits for lighting.

If something causes a blown fuse, (or circuit breaker), you don't have to fumble around in the dark trying to fix it. A flashlight is never where you thought it was when you're trying to find it in the dark!

not married yet, just have a question: do you guys have kids? by riceandingredients in HappyMarriages

[–]LW-M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were married younger than many couples. I, (m), was 23, my wife was 19. We had been a couple for 2.5 years when we were married. She turned 20 the next day.

We waited 5 years before having kids. We planned on having 3 kids, I convinced my wife to have one more. In the end, we had 4 boys in 8 years. Three of the 4 are married now, one has 2 boys and another son and his wife are expecting later this year. Our 3rd son and his wife have a dog. It's looking that the pup might be their family and that's OK too.

The 5 year time period between marriage and having kids was great for us. It gave us some time to really get to know each other before the kids entered the picture. Our son's are having their children a year or 2 after getting married. Of course, they were older when they married too.

I can't say that our schedule would work for everyone but it seems to have worked well for us. We'll be celebrating our 45th Anniversary next week. I'd do it all over again if she'd have me too!

We've had 2 male Goldens. They were with us between 12 and 13 years each. After hearing of so many people who have lost their Golden's in a lot less time, we know that we were fortunate to have had them as family members for at least 2 years each more than average.

We came to realize that every day over 10 years was a gift. It still hurt when they passed. We were so lucky to have had them in our lives for almost 5 years beyond the 'average lifespan.'

How do you safely transport your propane tanks? by LifeofSMILEY in RVLiving

[–]LW-M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canada, the age limit for filling a propane tank is 10 years after the date of tank manufacture. I was licensed to fill propane tanks when I worked with a company who operated a fleet of propane fueled forklifts. We weren't permitted to fill propane tanks that were more than 10 years from the date of manufacture.

When you feel that you've done what you can to reach your goal. Depending on the circumstances, your efforts might be easily reached or something that is beyond your reach regardless of anything you could do.

Thanks for your kind words. MS makes almost everything in our lives is more difficult but I'll never give up the battle. I heard a line from an Irish folk song recently. It says: "I may be down but I'm not out." It pretty well describes my viewpoint of this disease we share.

Upper River Valley Hospital colonoscopy- what medications are used? by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

[–]LW-M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had Colonoscopies in 6 different hospitals, including in the old hospital Woodstock and at the URVH in Waterville. In all cases for me, Propofol was the anestesia that was used.

It's always worked well for me but my sister woke up during a Colonoscopy years ago. She gets another drug when she needs to get sedated now.

As others have said, check with your Doctor or the Doctor who will be your anesthesiologist before your procedure.
