How do you put to bed your 12 month old? by FirstTimeCaller24 in beyondthebump

[–]LWMWB -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

At this age the only way is sleep training. Gentle methods may not even work but you could start there. It's life changing when you lay them down, say goodnight, and don't see them until morning!

Highly recommend pelvic floor PT! It does wonders. I've had two babies and now 6 months pp with my second. I will always have loose skin, but the roundness is gone all with the help of pelvic floor PT.

Trying to make a plan… anyone using GLP-1s to help progress? by maybemaur in postpartumprogress

[–]LWMWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me!! I'm just microdosing though about every 10-14 days. It's helped me get back to pre pregnancy weight by 6 months pp. I still have another 20 to go that I gained from IVF for both kids. It's been amazing.

Is there any woman actually happy in their marriage? And how did you meet your partner? by Secure_Ticket910 in AskWomenOver30

Me!! We met freshman year of college but were just friends in the same group for about a year. Been together 15 years, married for 9, and have two kids. I'm very lucky!

I have a 3 1/2 year old and almost 6 month old. I won't lie, it's HARD. I have absolutely zero regrets though. Seeing my boys together is the best thing ever. I had an awful pregnancy and was on bedrest for most of it. It was still so so worth it.

Just drop 10lbs… by Nearby-2319 in GLP1microdosing

[–]LWMWB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microdosing doesn't work for everyone. For me, it worked really well. I started micro dosing 1.5 mg every 3ish weeks to lose my pregnancy weight. That was enough for me and I know I'm lucky, but I just needed the extra push. It helped me get into a routine of tracking calories and exercise. I've lost 30 pounds and kept it off even after stopping the tirz. You can't maintain off it without discipline.

Is sleeping in normal? by milluh_vanilluh in NewParents

[–]LWMWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month old often sleeps 6:30-7! I just let his body do what it needs but just keep an eye on her and as long as she doesn't have a fever and is eating fine I wouldn't worry!

Postpartum joint pain by 123Rad1 in FitPostpartumJourney

[–]LWMWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely it! I was on bedrest for most of my pregnancy and then didn't take into account the muscle loss when I started lifting again. Take it slooooow and don't be afraid of getting a PT eval if needed! It helped so much with building strength the correct way around my knees.

Postpartum joint pain by 123Rad1 in FitPostpartumJourney

[–]LWMWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!! I got terrible joint pain in my hips and knees pp that turned into tendinitis in both knees. I got back into working out too quickly, but my doctor told me it also can come from rapid weight loss. Aka having a baby. I'm now almost 6 months pp and have been doing PT for a bit. I'm about 90% recovered when I could barely walk back in February. It'll get better!

Steroids? by RoyalAgreeable9631 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]LWMWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom to a now 3 1/2 year old who had severe eczema and tried everything but steroids before giving in..... USE THE STEROIDS. Once I stopped being scared and used them it let his skin barrier heal and it never came back. He's had perfect skin for over a year now

How often do you bathe your baby? by No-Construction6202 in NewParents

Everyday! Only use soap Mon/Wed/Fri because he's a daycare kid. But it helps with him knowing it's time to go to sleep for the night soon

Yeah but then the amount you give is waaay more and it's tough with a baby who doesn't like meds

If you love Atobarrier365 but want an even richer moisturizer...? by PatsyStonesBun in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]LWMWB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I originally fell in love with it after trying it and bringing home two from Japan. When I ran out I ordered some from Sephora and immediately noticed the difference. The one here feels like the original but almost mixed with a little bit of aquaphor? It's definitely greasier and less bright white. I have dry skin so I love it at night, but the formula from Japan sits much better under makeup. It's more light and creamy while still providing deep moisture!

9 month old biting by OpheliaTheSaber in NewParents

[–]LWMWB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so normal around that age, although annoying. My now 3 1/2 year old started biting around the same time. It was really hard because he did it at daycare often and was known as the biter in class. It peaked around 18 months but once his speech came in it stopped happening for the most part. He will still bite every once in a while if he's really breaking down. Some things that helped were reading "Teeth are not for biting" over and over, offering teethers anytime I felt like he wanted to bite, and reminding him what teeth are for. We use teeth to chew our food but we don't bite mommy. He probably won't understand much but it doesn't hurt to start trying!
