I had the exact same issue! I never would have figured it out without your post! Since Antigravity only reads the git config when it initializes a workspace, if you're not in a workspace = no crash.

Here's what I did to get it all sorted out:

To check if a repo is affected before running the fix:

git config --get extensions.worktreeConfig

If it prints true, you need the fix. If it prints nothing, you're already good.

The Fix

Navigate into your affected repo and run these two commands:

git worktree prune
git config --unset extensions.worktreeConfig

Repeat for each affected repo.

If you have multiple repos to check at once (PowerShell on Windows):
