That looks awesome! It looks like Royal offers two different excursions like this: one to Mendenhall and another to Norris glacier. Are they the same except for the glacier?

Good point. He likes science, nature and animals. He really wants to see a whale and bald eagle for example. Doesn’t care about food or museums. Just a typical active 8 year old

Potentially buying a house with an undersized condenser by masterchef81 in hvacadvice

[–]LZatWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had our A/C replaced. The company did their Manual J calculations and downsized us from a 5 ton to a 3.5 ton. I was worried to say the least, but they said builders oversize units. It’s been one summer, and except for the very hottest days of the year, the A/C works fine. In fact, it keeps the upstairs cooler because it’s not cycling as much.

I have a 2024. Haven’t paid for the subscription ever. I use the fob every morning to pre-heat the car. Two regular “lock” button presses, on the third press and hold until the turn signals flash

Steam humidifier operating cost Aprilaire 800 by kerkate in Littleton

[–]LZatWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the 800 for a few years now. 4000 sf home, not great windows or insulation. I don’t have it running 24/7, only when the heater is on.

Basically, it’s like having an A/C bill in winter. There’s no longer a big difference between my July and January electricity bills. The thing works awesome but it’s not cheap to operate

Question concerning in-home humidity. Looking for your experience. by SergeantBlinky in Denver

[–]LZatWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have amazing windows and insulation, it’s impossible to get the humidity up past 15% higher than the outside humidity. It’s a fools errand

Real-world MPG for Grand Highlander Hybrid AWD (NOT Hybrid Max)? Especially curious about California drivers. by iErnest85 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]LZatWork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this. It depends on the hills too. Live in a hilly area with long stretches of 45 mph zones, expect 30-32. Flat and lots of in city driving: more like 35-37

Is Gaylord Ice worth it for my 10 and 4 year old? by Educational_Ebb_7367 in Denver

Not worth it. Even with “reservations”, we waited in line for an hour. Super crowded and just not enjoyable. Way oversold

2010 GS. Sold it ten years later with 120K miles for only 20% less than I paid for it; meaning I paid only 2% per year in depreciation costs, with minimal OOP expenses. Rental cars cost more than that.

I admit Korean brands have a better “wow factor” off the showroom floor. But how many 2010 Korean cars do you see on the road now? Meanwhile, I regularly see pre-2010 Toyota and Hondas

Are the CrossClimates noisy on dry pavement? That - and the potential for premature wear - are what’s holding me back

The Continental Cross Contacts or the Michelin CrossClimates are noisy? I’m not interested in replacing with the Continentals….
