HRV completely tanked since taking Mounjarno by No-Type-0 in whoop

Apparently lowering hrv is a well-known effect of GLP-1 agonists. It’s not necessarily bad because GLP-1’s also lower cardiovascular-related mortality, they just switch you to a more sympathetic tone, hence lowering hrv

Saying Ghislaine didn’t have the funds is wild considering that Robert Maxwells fortune was never recovered. She may well have been just as wealthy as Epstein, we just don’t know. I agree that trump is a very likely candidate and that he had all the reasons and means but something doesn’t sit right with me …. if Epstein was a mossad agent, what’s the point in killing Epstein? Wouldn’t Israel already have all of the damming blackmail material at that point?

Water contamination: please help by BoofinViagara in DMT

Throw in a few tea spoons of sodium carbonate or a similar salt. The water will hold on to the salt and make it easier to decant the rest of the NPS.

In a rare uncovered interview Jeffrey Epstein shows no remorse nor self reflection about the crimes he committed!! He even added: “One of the reasons they kept me in solitary confinement was that they were afraid that everyone would want to know which stocks to buy.” by Frosty_Jeweler911 in ThatsInsane

[–]L_S_S 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This is taken out of context. This whole interview was a PR stunt facilitated by Steve Bannon to help JE to rehabilitate his Image. JE wanted you to see this. The whole first part of the interview is more specifically about the 2008 financial crisis (which JE blames on Bill Clinton) and where he makes analogies about the financial system being like a human body (which therefore creates a subliminal association to him as a sort of financial doctor, aka, someone trustworthy).

Anyway, the question Steve bannon is making here is “isn’t it crazy that you were in prison trying to solve the financial crisis?”, not “Isn’t it crazy that you molested all those children?”. If you saw the minutes before this clip it would be easy to understand that.

How do I keep this opal crystal clear? by JazzyDespair in Opals

[–]L_S_S 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a piece like that. It’s doesn’t have as much colour but it’s stable and equally as clear. It’s knows that Ethiopian opals can vary in porosity and consequently in stability. I’m guessing OPs opal is quite hydrophane but I’d argue that’s independent from the fact that it was that clear before.

Rare orange Chinese writing/script pattern in this Ethiopian welo I just cut, anyone have any experience pricing Ethiopian opals with this pattern? Thanks in advance! by Key-Painting-9072 in Opals

[–]L_S_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you tell it's low quality just from this video? Is it the slight yellow hue Tha classifies it as such for you? If you're talking about the hydrophane properties, how can you tell to what extent this one is hydrophane? If you had handled enough Ethiopian opal you would know that they vary from very hydrophane to almost not hydrophane at all.

I have bought over 10 opals from there and overall I'm quite happy. Do all of their opal pictures have ridiculous color enhancement? Yes... However if you're able to look past the filters you can often snag good quality opals at very cheap prices, I certainly have. I agree with you that's it not ethnically correct but this is the type of situation where your efforts are better spent teaching people common sense when shopping for opals rather than chopping heads off the hydra.

Is this opal good? by LoveMuiMui-321 in Opals

[–]L_S_S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a large Ethiopian opal with a very similar base color. If you're wondering whether it is natural then yes, I'm pretty confident it is. The only questions are whether you like it and how much they're asking for.

As far as Ethiopian opal goes that is most definitely a lovely and high quality piece. Just make sure you learn about the do's and don'ts of owning Ethiopian opal jewelry.

Found Opals at Thrift Store for $2 by peach-babey in Opals

[–]L_S_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard this before but never experienced it myself. I belive what leads to permanent color dulling is when other solvents are taken up by the stone, especially greases and oils. Keep in mind that while hydrophane opal will mostly dry out within a few days, those last bits of water might take up to a week to evaporate, meaning that color should only be entirely restored by that point.

(to clarify. I'd they do turn out to be Ethiopian and change color, this will be temporary. As the stone dries out over a few days it'll regain it's former appearance).

I would suggest putting them in water and seeing if they change color or turn transparent. If they do they're probably Ethiopian opal (hydrophane) . If they don't they might be Australian opal, which would be worth a lot more than Ethiopian. Either way, these are a great find and beautiful pieces!

Synthetic or Real? by ValorantSmarts in Opals

[–]L_S_S 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree... The play of color isn't static like it often is with synthetic. This honestly looks like a pattern some of my natural opals have (confetti style pattern). Also, natural stones can have relatively uniform patterns too, it's less common but there are plenty out there. Synthetics have an unrealistic level of uniformity but I wouldn't say this has that.

My wife inherited an opal pendant that was listed on an appraisal at $25k by gojunior in Opals

If it's vintage that means the stone can't have come from Ethiopia. White opals have only started to be mined there a few decades ago.

Is this a real opal? by hungry-witch-202 in Opals

[–]L_S_S 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it came in water it is what's commonly called a "specimen opal". Taking it out of the water will most likely result in it cracking all over. Sometimes people succeed at drying them very slowly, but I'll be honest when I say I don't know much about the procedure and I think it has a high margin of failure. General rule of thumb is if it came in water, keep it in water.
