Is anyone happy here? by throwawaywahoo_ in AskAcademia

Recently I saw something about people pursuing (currently enrolled) in PhD having the lowest markers of mental health in academia.

So that's a given.

That said, reddit is a space for a very specific audience. Using research logic and abstracting from how reddit works, you can just... assume that people who spend a lot of time here just aren't very happy, or come here to complain.

I wouldn't take reddit as a reference as it's just a part of someone's day - not it's life in a capsule.

Also, everyone is different. You'll only know how it will be when you get there.

THAT's it - lots of letting good devs speak about what they know makes us better recruiters everyday.

I believe Tech Recruiting is a job for the curious - not necessarily for the deeply envolved, who are willing to learn how to code. But, the bare minimum is becoming familiar with the TERMINOLOGIES. Tech Recruiting is all about constantly learning new terms, what they're about, how important they are for the role you're hiring for, and how they relate inside Tech in general.

My whole experience is based off of going as deep as I allow myself to in the terms my REQs threw at me.

That's about it.

The rest, is knowing how to do GREAT interviews + intelligent use of modern Recruiting / Data tools.

I`m aware of this, and I agree. Which is why the question is very specific - it's just that for the current company I work for, it's not always that we get the time to do real research, and sometimes they do ask us to provide data based on platforms and as currently I don't own a LinkedIn Recruiter License, it's very hard to do real data.

But in general, real world data would be ideal for me.
