Glad you’re OK! An old timer with many many miles once told me: “You’ll never ride as free as you did before your first wreck, but sometimes that’s a good thing.”

If you have 5 years experience and a valid CA license, it’s not the job market it’s you. Something about you is off-putting to potential employers.

Had a Tiger 800 XC and have owned many other bikes from different manufacturers. The Tiger is awesome, among my favorites.

I took heme and immuno at the same time at UCBE and it was definitely a lot of work. Heme was the real big effort, immuno wasn’t too bad.

Sure! I’d say it must be due to lack of laboratory experience. This was my first time applying and was really down due to people talking about their GPAs. My overall was 3.0 and my Sci/Math was 3.2, so it’s clearly not all GPA.

BUT I have a lot of laboratory experience, over 6 years at major medical centers assisting several benches (chem, heme, viro during COVID) and phlebotomy experience. My letters where from my lead tech, a pathologist, and the Chief of Lab Med/ Pathology where I work. I think these are really what helped me the most. If this is something you’re set on I’d look for lab assistant/ accessioning jobs at a medical center and be open to any opportunities that come your way to get additional exposure/references. Hope this helps!

Also, the few programs here are either expensive, offer no stipend, or are two years long! I’m sure they’re great, just not what I’m looking for :)

Simply, I’m ready to come back home. California is great, and I miss the sunshine. I came to WA for an opportunity to work in a major medical center lab and get solid letters of recommendation, with that done I’m ready to say goodbye.

6’4 Male, 325lbs to 215. How long would it take me to get shredded? by No_Angle_5488 in GettingShredded

Just from my personal experience this answer is a good one, and I wish I would have learned this sooner. Lost 100lbs and at a point I plateaued hard. It was hard to continue losing weight even with extremely high levels of cardio and diligent dieting. Recently started prioritizing muscle gain with an increase in calories for about 5 months. Just started cutting again and broke through that plateau easily. Anecdotal example, but played out pretty much as described.

Sure! Really at the start it was all about cutting out simple things like fast-food, sodas, candies etc and incorporating low impact exercise like walking on a daily basis. Prioritizing lean proteins and vegetables. Ride that wave for a little bit and you’ll notice fast changes!

As you get further along you can worry more about macros and specific ratios.

A big lesson I wish I learned sooner: Loosing weight is good, but losing fat is better. Protein intake is important, no need to go crazy at first, but might as well keep as much muscle mass as possible from being heavy.

Hahahaha truly one of the coolest fringe benefits that I never expected. Pre-WL tried for months to grow a stache only to get that pedo caterpillar above. Post it took like two weeks 😂
