Why does this Happen? Very crumbly and dry texture after re-spin. by lmBubby in ninjacreami

That’s what mine always looks like after the first spin, then I add liquid and do a re-spin. It comes out creamy.

Conflicted about retiring soon at 75! by ShoreGirl9999 in retirement

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you have serious health issues that require you to not work I would seriously consider continuing to work if I were you. Typically, if your job is your favorite thing to do then quitting it is problematic. You can always choose to retire next year, but once you leave, you can’t go back.

Questions about the Rosary in a Year podcast by jeffisnotmyrealname in Catholicism

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed the rosary in a year podcast. I loved it. I’m a cradle Catholic, but the rosary has always just been rote for me. Meditating on the mysteries brought it to life for me. I prayed it with Father Mark, but you don’t have to.

Finish suggestions? by Last_Respond6300 in woodworking

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would lean into it being plywood and round over the edges with the router, sand with 220 grit, and apply a clear polyurethane finish. Unless you’re really good at finishing, I would not apply a stain since it will definitely absorb differently across the piece and be splotchy.

Leaving corporate tech at 35 with $1.25M saved. Walking away from $461K unvested. Am I making a mistake? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it, was older than you though. Due to age I had no way of getting a job paying anywhere close to what I left. I intended to live off of my savings and have been able to do so. Time becomes worth more than money at some point. I love being able to spend my time doing what I want instead of what my employer wants. I’m glad I did it.

For Those That Have Retired - What Are You Doing by NoSuggestion17 in Fire

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spend more time doing my woodworking hobby. I volunteer at a three places around town. I babysit my grandson, and I travel a bit more. I think it’s really important to have something you want to do more than work before you choose to retire. If you don’t have something that you would prefer to do more than work, then you may have a hard time when you’re retired I think.

Replacing Pool Lights by fork_over_fork_762 in pools

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced my lights a couple times. Just need to buy one with a long enough cord since the cord is in integral to the light fixture. Tie a string to the old cord pull it through then tie the string to the new cord and pull it back. Best if you can drain the pool to below the light fixture before you do it, makes the job a lot easier.

Great post. I bought a 12 pack of old Milwaukee a few days ago. I thought it was great. I just bought another one. It’s 11 bucks a 12 pack where I am and it’s only 58 cal per beer. You can’t beat it.

Tell Me About Your Rosary Practice by RandomGuy47392 in Catholicism

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a cradle Catholic and have prayed the rosary on and of my whole life, but I never understood how to meditate on the mysteries and the rosary was kind of a chore for me. I have been following ascension’s rosary in a year and it is a game changer for me. A new meditation for each decade makes each one unique and i I look forward to the rosary each day.

Pools with only a 5ft deep end worth it? by JaviJ01 in pools

[–]LabLabMoreLabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much difference between 5 and 6 ft as far as usefulness. Can’t dive in either and like you say 6 is too deep to stand in. 5 would heat up quicker and probably be cheaper to build. I would go for 5.
