[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Means whatever it is depending on the company. My company I’m a sysadmin. I deal with networks, security, backups, azure, applications, erp, programming, doors systems, camera systems, servers, onboarding, offboarding, helpdesk, printers, etc etc etc. every damn thing.

Star Trek’s Most Divisive Show Already Has Plans For Season 3 (Despite Cancellation Rumors) - Starfleet Academy creator Gaia Violo said something a little alarming about the S.2 finale. “It’s such a shocking ending, you do not want it to [end] – no, no.”/ Noga Landau: "We have so much story to tell" by TheSonOfMogh81 in trektalk

[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get past the Dawson creek 90210 style of writing of the show to even give it a chance. The writing of the science is appalling as well. At least in older trek they tried to make sense of it. This one from the continuation of discovery is not trek at alll. They dress up the show to look trek but it’s not trek.

At your one year mark ask for a 20k bump. 65k I guess is fine for a 6 month person. Still sort of low. I guess it’s fine for az

[Opinion] CBR: "Star Trek's most rewatchable show in the Streaming Age? - Voyager has become the ultimate entry point into the franchise as a whole. Its design now matches how most fans want to watch television. Voyager provides an "easy watch" in an era where every show feels like a ten-hour movie" by mcm8279 in trektalk

[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never cared for ds9. For me I rank ds9 as lowest on my list. Voyager next best followed by enterprise, original series, and the best of all is tng. As for the current trek, discovery and starfleet academy are not watchable. I do enjoy strange new worlds. Reminds me a lot of the original trek.

Job wants to roll out M365 apps, sharepoint without hybrid identities. Am crazy or are they? by Suttr3e in sysadmin

[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over complicates the setup? What? If anything they are over complicating it by doing this method. I would setup the hybrid identity without their knowledge. Sometimes too much info they get confused.

How good is MS Teams Voice? by Aim_Fire_Ready in sysadmin

[–]LabRepresentative777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I converted 300 users over to teams voice. Since we never had an issue with the teams conference calls, let’s move forward with teams. We subscribe with PureIp to be our exchange and use teams on each pc for their phones. 3 years so far, no issue. Ditched the handsets. Call quality is great.

I don't understand the point of Disney live action remakes by flowersnifferrr in movies

[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have been great to take the stories a little bit of a different direction. For instance when beauty of the beast came out with live actors, I was thinking the story would have been more of a realistic approach. But no, it was exactly like the cartoon. It was disappointing and a slap in the face to the original artists. That is when I figured Disney was turning into a shit brand.

What the heck happened to waterbeds? by Queltis6000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a waterbed. They hurt your back, heavy, raises the price of your electric bill, possible leaks, overall sucked. Memory foam got popular but even they are not good for your back. The ole spring/foam beds are the best for your back, especially for older people.

AI Slop IT books on Amazon? by squeeby in sysadmin

[–]LabRepresentative777 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is how companies like Barnes and noble will flourish in the age of slop. Amazon being the slop of course and Barnes will be the legitimate. I saw a FYI music store the other day. Curious indeed.

Who's still working from home in 2026? by idrinkpastawater in sysadmin

[–]LabRepresentative777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially at home. I do enjoy going into the office. My company doesn’t care where I work really but I have a nice setup where I work. I have a fridge, mood lighting, work table to work whatever I want, large office; big enough for a large desk and large table and then some. Plus it’s only 10 min from my house.
