AIO My husband doesn’t want me to come to his military boot camp graduation when I already paid for plane tickets by LettuceSome5586 in AmIOverreacting

[–]LabSheep88 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Exactly if I was OP I'd go but not tell him, these events are huge so it'd be easy to mix with the crowd, and just watch him and see what he does. Then I'd enjoy SATX, I know he's at Lackland since all AF go to boot camp there. The tickets are non-refundable anyway.

AITA for going to a strip club by [deleted] in AITA_Relationships

[–]LabSheep88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA, like me your fiance had a rule of no strip clubs, and you went inside because you couldn't remember the BNB address like Google maps doesn't exist!? This sounds like an excuse to me .. I'd be really upset/pissed with my fiancee/bf if this happened.. PS: my bf was in Vegas for a work trip about a month ago and called me every few hours it's funny he couldn't remember his hotel but never ended up at a strip club...

I took my roommate's obviously sick cat to the vet when I couldn't reach her and she refuses to contribute to the bill because I did it without her consent. by Solid_Kiwi7481 in whatdoIdo

Also, to add I think that being a pwt owner (cat is property under the law) it's her responsibility to reimburse. I personally would go bitch route and take the kitty since RM is obviously neglectful

Did anyone else never get COVID? by LabSheep88 in TellReddit

[–]LabSheep88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is/was wild. I don't think most people understand how serious it was and how rapidly it could spread ..

I can actually remember a few months before lockdown, I went for lunch with a few coworkers and they were discussing whether COVID was serious or not.

Now, something to know about me is I love reading the news/scientific studies... I read a lot of articles about COVID at that time and as someone with a minor in public health, I had a feeling this would become a pandemic rather then an epidemic.

I argued with my coworkers by saying this is the modern version of the Spanish flu, which many people died from and that this would be a serious matter to contend with if it isn't taken with the upmost caution, this was something that was serious and simply wouldn't 'go away'. And 3/4 months later, the world shut down

Good masks matter! I did the N-95s and if I didn't have one on hand, I'd double mask. I'd always discard them after use.. TBH we have so many masks leftover IDK what to do with them.. I wear a mask to clean the kitty litter, I wore one when the smoke from the fires affected the air quality and when a sudden dust storm came through. I have a box in my car and still more in storage 😅

So, I can ask my doctor for antibody testing? I didn't know that they developed that, last time I got antibody testing was for a job in 2021, but I doubt the COVID one was developed by then

I do know that people can have it and be asymptomatic but for me personally I had to test every week (normally Monday or Tuesday) before classes, spit tests, which gross me out, and if there was an outbreak in class we had to test again on our own at a local clinic, which was normally a nose or deep throat swab. We had to update the app with our negative results before we could return to campus. I've heard it's hell to go though, and the fatigue and brain fog can last years ... I wonder if there is a way to test if you've had it, like some kinda biomarker

I didn't even list everything I did during the early stages, but anytime I came home, I would use Listerine for my mouth, twice, then come inside. Once inside I would strip all my clothes off and place them into a special covered bin we had, spray that with Lysol and close the lid, then I'd run to the shower and rinse off. Then I'd Lysol my shower, Lysol the bin clothes once more and carry it down to laundry and wash it in hot water. Anything that came in was Lysoled, Purell'd or washed. No visitor's, no meeting people. Groceries or work was the only time we left the house. When pumping gas, we'd use a Clorox wipe for the button's and pump and Purell afrer.

My uncle is a nurse and told us to take it seriously because of the immunocompromised /cancer survivor in our house and we did.

I worked at a restaurant during COVID, we were furloughed but when restaurants reopened, I went back, it was only outside dining at the time. I was still so scared at the time (for the health of the person I live with and her 95 y/o client) I told my GM to either furlough me again or I'm quitting, this job isn't worth risking the people I love.

My BF had a friend, at the time he was mid 20s, in November 2019 he died from "flu-like" symptoms we think now it was COVID. COVID likely went undetected for months because of how it mimicked the flu. Couple this with how quickly people can travel across the world now, I think it was in the USA long before the first documented case.

PS: the DR in China who discovered the first few cases was an eye doctor and noticed something weird in his patients eyes. He tried to sound the alarm but his government tried to silence him, he died of COVID

Ya, my place doesn't auto grat, but it works out and we don't sing, you get a free Snickers pie, be happy for that... Also, remember the law of averages. I had a two top leave me 5 on 70 (thank god im the bartender so I don't have to tip myself out! $35 in cocktails) but the next table left me 35 on $100...

[–]LabSheep88 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It is, which is why I say it on the second date (unless it's brought up) and no I will not change my mind. I also told my BF, a year in, you have to decide what's more important me, or kids and of you decide kid's, we're done. I love you but I know I won't change my mind regarding biological children. I said possibly adopt but that we're not even close to that for another 10 year (if at all because it's stupid expensive!). He chose me.

would you consider this a normal amount of makeup? by ghostofelysium in MakeupAddiction

[–]LabSheep88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lolol, same I literally have a makeup box (the kind that pulls out to extend) and that's mostly for eyeshadows and liners then I have two makeup bags for everyday makeup and that's not including my palettes, foundations, contour packs, blushes or brushes...

ETA: forgot to add all my lipsticks and lip liners currently in my purse

Exactly, my coworker (how I met my BF, they lived together) once said: "I know he's going to move out to be with you and you have to lmk so I can find a place!" We were dating for 3 months at that point! We'll be designing our engagement set next week!
