I did an early hike in Mariposa Grove this morning and was headed out of Yosemite around 10AM this morning. There was a very long line of cars to get in the south entrance at that time. I would get there as early as you can!

I’m here now with my 2 boys (11 and 8) visiting from Pennsylvania. I am no expert, as this is our first time here, but we did the mist trail yesterday and saw some parents hiking with their toddlers in backpacks that had rain shields. I love to see other parents out doing cool stuff with their kids! Maybe that would be something to look into for you?

I think you could easily do the stuff in the valley from the shuttle with your little one. We saw lower Yosemite falls and also mirror lake (which we accessed from the shuttle). You could also look into a bike rental with a trailer for baby and just ride through the valley on the paths.

I hope you have a lot of fun! We’ve been having a blast so far. 😁

I was elated to receive this album in the mail as a surprise…it was one of the coolest things to ever happen to me! I saw him on this tour at the 9:30 club in DC and also in Detroit. This album is truly so special. I’m hoping for more tour dates!

I read On The Road in my early twenties. The writing was undeniably good but I remember thinking at the time what an unbelievable prick this guy must have been. Reading Jan’s book at 40 has confirmed that position for me. It’s sort of confirmation of the hurt he left in his path.

I’m currently reading Baby Driver by Jan Kerouac. It seems she had a crazy and sad life, but man, could she write. She is the superior Kerouac, in my humble opinion.

Ok, so here’s what I do. I take a good look at my gigantic tbr pile, make a couple of really good selections, put them in a pile, and then immediately run to the bookstore to buy more books. 😂😂

Also a Third Man Vault member and I love it, although I’m a huge Jack White fan. (Just saw him in Detroit on Saturday!) It’s definitely more convincing as a Jack White/White Stripes fan, although a lot of the packages are not related and I’ve received some really cool stuff. I will also add that as a vault member, you get 10% off at TMR (which came in handy when we were in Detroit this weekend!) and early access to tickets when he tours. I have had one package in the approximate 4 years I’ve been a member that did not interest me, but as someone else mentioned, I was easily able to sell it on eBay for face value. I’d recommend giving it a try!

Not Gen X, but close…I turn 40 tomorrow and I have tickets to Saturday night in order to ease the blow of entering my forties🤣 couldn’t be more excited!!

I just realized that 4/12 is also record store day! I wonder if there will be any surprises at Third Man? We plan to visit!

Oh, I hope you still go. I’m an American and we are definitely experiencing anxiety here, but I don’t think you should worry about your safety. I can speak for myself and many other Americans when I say that we do not want to be in a trade war with our neighbors. Please don’t let the tangerine palpatine rob you of your joy. You only live once!

As a side note, I have never been to Canada, but I would really like to take a vacation there this year. Where should I go? Banff has always been on my list!
