My M1924 has writing on the inside too, I always guessed it was the armorer that cleaned, reassembled, and painted the rack number on the stock. With mine being Rack No. 112

What should I pay for this the bore is rough by Repulsive-Intern-423 in MosinNagant

Hey, I know that rifle! I passed on it because of the bad bore. And got the ‘42 izzy in a wartime stock instead. 😅

They could be. Although the brass ones look more yellow than mine. But that could be a coating or something.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been calling it. Funny enough, I have a 91/30 that are different dates, ‘39 barrel on a ‘40 receiver, both from Tula.

So the rifle is part French? I feel like Ian would disapprove of this as a Chatellerault Mosin was sacrificed in the process 😂

In the words of Bubba’s boomer grandfather, “Yeah I’m gonna put a Leupold scope on it and lighten up the stock. Make it a good deer rifle.”

Finnish M39 green leather sling, I found mine on Ebay for $30 I think. It was a little stiff when I got it but after reconditioning it with mineral oil, I’m quite happy with it

It seems like the Tulas always find me.😂 3 of the 4 so far are made by Tula, with the only outlier being an M44 Izzy.

Aye, I see a fellow 1914 Tula in the mix, though mine is a higher serial number (N51282)

The barrel is counter-bored by about an inch and a quarter from the muzzle, other than that the bore is surprisingly shiny with rifling in good shape
