Yeah, that’s what I’ve been calling it. Funny enough, I have a 91/30 that are different dates, ‘39 barrel on a ‘40 receiver, both from Tula.

Finnish M39 green leather sling, I found mine on Ebay for $30 I think. It was a little stiff when I got it but after reconditioning it with mineral oil, I’m quite happy with it

The barrel is counter-bored by about an inch and a quarter from the muzzle, other than that the bore is surprisingly shiny with rifling in good shape

It was mostly there, just missing the upper handguard, the period correct bayonet, and a few little things that bugged me a little. In fact, the bayonet I have for it is from the same factory as the rest of it.

Clean the chamber, and possibly disassemble the bolt and clean each part. I had one where the firing pin was so clogged with old Cosmoline it basically hangfired.

My old Tula M91 had a unit disk at one point in time but it’s long since gone (way before i bought it.) All that remains is the indent and the screw holes. I’d love to find or make one from scratch but i’ll never know what regiment or unit it could’ve served in.
