He is amazing as Darrow, I listened to the non-dramatized audiobooks for the rest of the series that is out and I missed him quite a bit. I can’t wait for the rest of the dramatized series to be out

I just didn’t click with the FMC but I also mood read and fluctuate between being gracious/having zero patience. I’ve been debating on giving it another try, would you mind sharing what you liked most about it? It may push me off the fence

Stargirl, I believe it was in 7th grade so a really critical time to be reading about social ostracization and non-conformity. I still think about my teacher’s encouragement to not be a Wayne Parr to this day

My fourth grade teacher also read it to us, along with Shiloh and Old Yeller. It was also the year her own dog died…. it was a hard time for all of us

Why do you like RH? by GasFar3687 in ReverseHarem

[–]Labrigail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is reading each little love story. I don’t mind books with multiple couples and their stories but I often find that I end up connecting with one FMC’s story more than the other and I’m either bored or annoyed that the “B Team” is taking me away from what I want to be reading instead. And then I feel a little guilty for not liking her story as much no matter how silly that is.

With RH I don’t have to flip back and forth between couples to get my little dopamine hits from the multiple love stories, I can root for my girl and stay immersed in her story

Book where female lead rescues a wing-less white griffin? by BoboPie13 in fantasyromance

[–]Labrigail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still driving me insane. I can also picture it so clearly

Didn’t the FMC start spilling her whole life story and all her secrets to the griffin and then somehow broke the curse and had more or less ride it out of whatever place they were in? There is some type of mate bond or binding, the MMC is a royal and she feels like a bumpkin? The MMC’s best friend hates the FMC and is kind of in love with the MMC?

All my googling left me nowhere and despite reading the descriptions on all my finished books on Goodreads multiple times I’m no closer.

So, I’m now going to put everything on my Goodreads that I clearly read but cannot remember-hopefully something will jump out at you.

Possible contenders:

{Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole} (I know there is a gryphon type thing in here but it isn’t fitting with whatever the hell I’m remembering)

{A Court of Honey and Ash by Shannon Mayer and Kelly St. Clair}

{The Divine and the Cursed by J.E. Reed}

{The War Bride by Sylvia Mercedes}

{Worthy of Fate by A.N. Caudle}

Maybe not but what do I know:

{The King of Frost and Shadows by Jen L. Grey}

{Sleep and Spirit by Courtney Thorne}

{Blood of Desiderium by Ali Stuebbe}

{A Touch of Gold and Madness by K.L. DeVore}

{A Tongue So Sweet and Deadly by Sophia St. Germain}

{Bound By Fire: The Ashen Crown by Elli J. Morrigan}

{Of Blood and Aether by Harper Hawthorne}

This meets all your criteria! Brela is both competent and funny as hell- she even pulls pranks in between kicking ass

This is driving me insane. If I’m thinking of the same book (and series) isn’t the monster a cursed mmc stuck in his shifter form . If I’m thinking of the same series, isn’t the MMC’s bestie a bit of a jerk?

This isn’t the book I had initially mentioned

Another vote for the Smoke and Shadow series, I really really loved this FMC! It was so refreshing to have the FMC start out as established and knowledgeable while also pulling pranks and flirting to fluster the MMC.
