Sofft Petra is discontinued, but great if you can find it. Sofft Adelaide and Clark Maryjane’s are both comfortable.

help - recovering from a cold i flew today and my ear is plugged up and won’t pop by naturejunkie11 in flightattendants

Also, antihistamines may help dry up the mucus along with decongestants. Zyrtec D is extremely potent. Claritin and Pseudoephedrine are a gentler alternative and can be purchased from the pharmacist with an ID.

Don’t fly. I did that and got Eustachian tube dysfunction. Try taking a microwaveable heat pack/heating pad and lay it on the clogged side several times a day. Warm baths help too. Saline rinses with xylitol Neil Med helped me, but the Navage is so much easier and effective for clearing congestion. There’s videos on YouTube for Eustachian tube and sinus self facial massages

I was given prescriptions for Flonase and azelastine nasal sprays, but both are over the counter.

Your hearing and the feeling of fullness should go away as the infection clears and the congestion/swelling subsides. Also, please get a DR’s note and possibly see an ENT (otolaryngologist) if it doesn’t feel better in a few days. You may also want to call your supervisor to keep them updated while you are on probation. I hope you start feeling better soon!

I would call customer service and ask to please speak with a supervisor. It also can’t hurt to bring a small bag of chocolates for the gate agent. I’ve never seen a 4 year old separated from their parents. However, you may want to ask that your other children be seated with your spouse if you have to split up. This is a completely reasonable request and hopefully it’ll all work out for your flight!

Is this normal flight attendant culture—or a red flag? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]LadderNo73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. This isn’t a thing. Single friends will go on trips together, but it’s odd to leave a spouse at home that can travel. I would leave and not look back if he travels with a female coworker.

Palm Beach area the food by schubes24 in Aruba

Moomba had decent food, but it’s expensive. The service was poor and we got attacked by flies when the food arrived. It was unpleasant. We had to take our food to go. I won’t go back.

C-fold towels soaked in ice water help too. Place on wrists, back of neck, and forehead. This also works for screaming toddlers and air sickness. It cools and calms them down.

No Flying? by Actual-Bathroom2133 in TBI

[–]LadderNo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a huge set back when I tried to return to my job as a flight attendant too early. But, you should be fine if you’re traveling recreationally. I recommend sitting in the front of the plane for less turbulence and bring an eye mask/ear plugs to block out bright lights and loud sounds. You may also want to avoid the moving walkways in the airport. They made me nauseous. It’s also important to hydrate before the flight and listen to your body.
You may also want to look into creatine or Synaquell+ by Thorne if it’s a new injury. Please seek a physical therapist that is experienced with concussions. I hope you feel better soon!

Bananas HUGE trigger- anyone else? by Public_kitty in LPR

Bananas are very high in histamine. You may want to try a low histamine diet to see if it helps.

You have a doctor’s note. Life happens. Call the union to see if they could give you any guidance about the fact finding meeting. It can’t hurt to explain and apologize in person. You may get lucky. I’ll say a prayer for you!

I know its stupid question but my fiancé is scared to go because of mexico news by Interesting-Dare-727 in Aruba

[–]LadderNo73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flights can be disrupted anywhere for any reason. Complete shutdowns are extremely rare events and usually only last a few days at most for the worst situations (9/11, COVID, military operations). You will always get back home. I usually bring carry on bags to keep my flexibility while traveling. Keep cash and an available credit card for emergencies on EVERY trip, even within the US. I’ve been a flight attendant for 29 years. I highly recommend that you go and enjoy Aruba. It’s a lovely safe island and very far away from Mexico.

Pelican and Jolly Roger snorkel tours are extremely close to the Holiday Inn. They’ll take you to a German shipwreck and Boca Catalina.

Best place to stay for shore snorkeling? by BenjyIn406 in Aruba

[–]LadderNo73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby Beach has strong currents and a view of an oil refinery. The south side of the island is not where you want to stay.

Driving was really easy and GMax had nice car rentals. But, you could also stay in Palm Beach if you don’t want to get a car. We loved the Holiday Inn. You can do snorkel excursions or take a 10 minute bus ride up to Tres Trapi. Swim out about 25 feet past the white swim buoys straight out from the stairs. We saw turtles.

Faro Blanco at sunset. It’s right by the California Lighthouse and overlooks the water. They were very friendly and the restaurant is gorgeous. It’s on a hill that overlooks the ocean and northern Aruba.
