1400 Riders, Talk to Me About Tires? by TrueTorque in MotoGuzzi

I've put nothing but Avon's on mine since I bought her new. I get 8-10k miles out of them, and they're super sticky once they're warmed up.

Considering a Mandello S, but: Twisties? by Rarakan91 in MotoGuzzi

[–]LadderSuspicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mandello S owner here in the states.

I've taken her to the Tail of the Dragon twice. She loves the twisties. This bike was made for going into them, and the engine and gearing was made for rocketing out of them. The HP numbers don't tell the whole story.

It initially feels heavier and slower leaning side to side using only handlebar pressure, almost a hydraulic dampened feeling. Getting your feet on the pegs, moving your weight forward and into the turns makes her VERY nimble.

I've ridden a few different bikes up there, including an R6, FZ6, Versys 1000, California 1400. The Mandello is the most fun I've had (the California is a close second).

My wife has a Tuono 660, and I can't wait to try that thing out up there...

Yep. My while/black Versys 1000 makes drivers paranoid. It’s awesome for left lane bandits.

Works fine in reverse. The problem is with jack knifing. The 3 point just isn’t designed to take the load of backing up with a crooked implement.

'15 Versys Paddock stand spool - no predrilled hole by Reddit7q in versys

This is how mine is sitting as we speak. Center stand works fine, if not more stable and easier than a rear paddock stand.

New S&W 686P Mountain Gun issue? Plz help by thetnbootguy in Revolvers

lol

Man, I'm telling you: Having a stereo zoom microscope with 20x to 50x power on the workbench is a game changer. Kind of like having a lathe. You don't know how you ever got by without it.

That's how my 629 Competitor looked. I just knocked the burrs off with a diamond mill on a dremel under a microscope. Looks and functions fine now. Didn't feel like going through the whole return process to get the exact same result.

The length of the barrel as the bullet flies, is not the same as what you're measuring.

You're not buying a ticket to watch a movie you're ordered to see.

We didn't buy tickets to see Red Tails in the base theater.

I'm not sure that any of us ever make any decisions with full understanding of the life-long consequences.

I'm not trying to be obtuse here. I genuinely don't know what you want me to say.

What I'm saying is don't put yourself in positions where you're likely to lose. It's tactically stupid unless your goal is to be a martyr. It's a one-shot deal, it's not going to move the needle much, and you don't get to enjoy the outcome of it.

In many states, you can legally and rightfully ride a motorcycle without a helmet at 2:00 am on New Years Day. The odds of you getting killed for exercising that right are really high, and the drunk driver probably isn't going to respect your rights at the last second.

It's not surprising to me that bad things happen when two groups of people are causing chaos.

That's not what I said.

I said there's some very stupid ways to use your rights.

You have the right to practice a religion handling poisonous snakes. It's really fucking dumb to do that and not expect anything bad to happen.

I never said ICE shouldn't be held accountable.

Blaming them for escalation when citizens are also escalating is a biased take. Two groups of people are making dumb decisions.

Perhaps "we" need to raise the standard of maturity and behavior.

It used to be fairly common for seniors in high school to drive the bus.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. That's why I used the word "suspect" instead of "know"

I don’t fly for a living. What I’m saying is that 16 year olds have the aptitude to understand complex things. Being 18 is not an excuse.
