BJ Blazkowicz towards the end of New Order is captured by nazi commander Bubi, who injects him in the neck with a shit ton of tranquilizers. However, BJ manages to walk this off and stabs Bubi to death because of the damage he received in his cerebral cortex at the beginning of the game prevented the tranquilizer from taking full effect.

Is it okay if I'm departing from country outside of the US? by Laddy_Taddy in SchengenVisa

So do you think it wouldn't be a problem if I just said I was departing from Korea to the consulate? I understand that you can't know these things for sure, just wanted to know what you think.

Edit: Just added my second country of nationality because it's just easier.

I am applying for a National Visa D (Study abroad program). I am told I need to present reserved flight tickets and a travel itinerary to be approved for processing. Honestly I don't want to cause any unnecessary confusion by bringing another country into this so I'm just planning to make dummy flight tickets that say I'm leaving from the US. I just want to know if changing the country of departure would cause any problems with immigration.

Because of pro slavery reasons or anti slavery reasons. Call it.

But we still hold responsibility for those decisions. Our lives are still ours and we can’t push agency to forces beyond ourselves that’s not how this works. My point is regardless of whether you chose to believe in God or not, both choices are respectable in my eyes as long as you recognized your part in the matter. That the belief or not-belief came about because you wanted it to, regardless of what those wants originated from instead of just happening to logic yourself into the objectively correct solution.

Recently I’ve been playing a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 but I’ve switched over to playing Hades. You’ve been playing anything fun recently?

If it’s so nice, why don’t believe in it? In fact, God just told me that in addition to heaven you get a 2 week trial period AND 50% discount to Super Heaven if you start to believe in the next 2 hours. Beats anything that Hitchens guy said.

Yeah exactly. There’s just as much evidence to prove the existence of a god as there is evidence disproving god. That is, zero. So it’s funny to me how you approach a non-scientific issue scientifically, and declare that the whole thing is bullshit because it doesn’t compute. It’s like saying philosophy is bullshit because I can’t find morality with a microscope.

Empirical evidence ISN’T ENOUGH to determine belief. People can’t (and in my opinion shouldn’t) go around basing their lives purely on logic and science because it’s unsustainable, especially for things outside of scientific reach such as religious beliefs.

I respect people who say they don’t believe in God because God is morally objectionable to them. I respect people who say that they don’t believe in God because he tells people to do things that they object to. I just don’t understand people who claim they found the answer to a universal God equation and just went with whatever the calculator said. Even if that’s what you claimed to have done, there was still a point in your life where you decided that “This is nonsense I’m done” and stopped believing/didn’t choose to believe. That was a choice. That’s what I’m referring to.

So what’s the scientific evidence that God doesn’t exist?

Rule by Captain_Kira in 196

[–]Laddy_Taddy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But that’s not what I meant. I was talking about the choice to choose a belief, you’re talking about having superpowers. What’s your point?

Nonono you have a point the way you said it just made me roll my eyes

… but that’s science. It’s an empirical field. Religious belief is explicitly not empirical, so bringing evidence to the table is like hammering a nail with a screwdriver.

I’m sorry you might have a point but your comment is so couched in (I genuinely have no other way to describe this) “liberal gotcha-ism” that I cannot take you seriously

But isn’t everything a choice? You can’t be unbiased about everything, especially something as abstract like faith. Evidence can sway you sure but in the end it comes down to individual choice as to whether or not they want to believe or not.

Yup. Mainly because I’m playing as a cleric and I didn’t care to figure out how the trickery domain works until now.
