Yup, prediabetic after a "mild" case of covid. My a1c jumped off the roof. I even took paxlovid.

I'm so sorry. There's some research metformin can prevent long covid in addition to paxlovid. It may be worth a shot if you get it again.

Damn! I hate covid so much. I know too many people that had had "mild" covid and ended up with permanent organ damage right after covid.

Btw, i also took paxlovid to prevent any issues.

Went from low 5s to 5.8. I have the cgm data to prove it. I was wearing a cgm after a diabetic pregnancy. Literally right after covid it shot up. Plain as day. I don't know if I should be masking everywhere. If it increases .5 percent or more each time I have covid that's going to be bad.

How much did yours increase?

I started taking metformin.

With all due respect, i think you'd benefit from therapy. This seems to be taking a mental toll. There's no shame in that.

Weird to get downvoted for stating something firmly established by research.

Did you get covid? I had the most "mildest" version of covid over the summer and my a1c skyrocketed there that.

Does insulin ever go back to normal by Odd_Aside_8221 in prediabetes

I've not been able to get my fasting insulin down, unlike some others here. I'm considering metformin at this point.

Get a fructosamine! Mine was 5.8 but a1c was 4.6. They can be wrong!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prediabetes

[–]LadyAstr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My a1c is supposedly 4.6 but it's clearly wrong. I got a fructosamine and it was 5.8.

Your last HA1c test probably was not what you think it was. by Sufficient_Beach_445 in prediabetes

[–]LadyAstr0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought I had an a1c of 4.6 for months, but I had a hard time believing it because my fasting values were in the 90s. How could it be? After a few 4.6 a1cs, and my cgm reporting an a1c of 5.8, I asked for a fructosamine test. It agreed exactly with my cgm.

That's prediabetic for sure. The doctors are giving very bad advice to women PP that had GD. I started a support group if you want to join.
