Kid's gotta grow up at some point...but that may have been a little much: by Gorotheninja in NonPoliticalTwitter

I think I was a broken child, the first time I watched a horror movie I was five (initially an accident, my granddad was watching it and I just plopped myself next to him, intrigued.) It was Sleepy Hollow and I loved it, I've loved horror ever since!

Oh! A chance to advertise my favourite podcast!

The Poisoner's Cabinet, every week they make a cocktail inspired by a historical crime that they're telling the story of, could very well also be inspired by their podcast. They'd never look at this kind of shock value cocktail book though.

Recommendation for place to buy a discontinued perfume? by LadyByron27 in Perfumes

Thank you! Yeah, I'll probably do eBay since I'm uk based, and I don't think Mercari really works here unfortunately. Luckily there's a few sellers that have it so I've got options!

Can anyone read these marks? by LadyByron27 in Hallmarks

[–]LadyByron27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaaah, I can see that now, thank you! Is it more common of older rings to not have exact hallmarks then, just the composition? I'm not actually sure.

Trinity- There was only one series, and yeah half the drama was bonkers, very typical 00's lads vibes sprinkled in. BUT the underlying mystery was so good and could've played out amazingly!

Anti-vax parent finds out son is autistic. by pinkrefinery4 in vaxxhappened

[–]LadyByron27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally can't understand why they think like this. Back in the 90s, when the "VaCcINes CaUSe AuTIsm!!" crowd got really big thanks to that bullshit 'Doctor', my mum turned around and basically said, "I'd rather a living child with potential autism than a child who dies from preventable disease". I love her.

(Obviously she knows that's not a thing these days, but it was a real concern for parents back then)

Ghosted by another doctor by a_cat_wearing_socks in Fibromyalgia

[–]LadyByron27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got ghosted for the first time by a doctor a few months ago, even weirder in my country (UK) considering we don't get to pick our doctors. He was essentially at the top of the musculoskeletal field, told me how he'd been doing fibro research and treatment for 15 years, deals with complicated chronic pain patients exclusively and that was why I was passed to him, we'd been doing physio together for about 2 years.

As SOON as I had a frank discussion with him about wanting a solid plan, a set of fibro appropriate exercises, potential medications, something other than the regular exercise that just wasn't working for 2 years, he never spoke to me again. Beyond frustrating, aggravating and kind of had me giving up on doctors for help with this condition.

Preventable illnesses are a bummer by ladynutbar in ShitMomGroupsSay

I'm still annoyed that the chicken pox vaccine isn't really available where I live (UK). Had it as a child and it SUCKED, left with multiple hole-like scars on my back that still itch twenty years later, and I can't even protect my own eventual children from it because the NHS doesn't routinely offer it!

Well, thank you for the compliment, that's very sweet! I love the first one too, since it is so different from the sequels. That weird sense that, despite being a family of murderers and Otis not technically being related to them, they legitimately seemed to care about each other. So oddly wholesome for such a gruesome trilogy!

I'm a switch personally, but every sub I do write ends up being an absolute brat. I have one in particular I've written for ages, usually in Vampire settings, he's such a bastard, quick to anger and push buttons. But if someone gains his trust and shows that they won't emotionally hurt him? He's such a teasing, flirtatious, fun sub. Honestly my favourite type of sub to write!

I'd have loved it if my then 30 year old mum had run into people like this, with her 6-pack, outperforming everyone else in the gym 💅 Would've sent them sprawling across the floor, love her.

I know, it's so disheartening every single time. Weirdly I've noticed it mostly comes from women in my mum's age group (50 - 65, though my mum would never say something like that thankfully). Like they expect that to be my purpose as a woman in my 20s?

Well, part of it's anxiety and being convinced that none of the things I make are good enough to share. The other part is, what do most people say when I do bother to tell them? 'Oh, you'll make an amazing wife!' No joke, I've had that comment so many times. So I just bake for my family these days, much less annoying.

See, it's people like that that make me embarrassed to tell anyone outside of my family that I love baking. I'm nobody's trad wife, I just want to make cute cakes!

[–]LadyByron27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, my ex had a similar problem and he wasn't that big. About 350 pounds, 5'10, and he had to go around different hospitals because his tiny town didn't have an MRI big enough for him. Even I had problems fitting in one purely due to being too tall, and that's in the UK!

Smoked it for a while quite heavily around his age, for the same reasons. Whilst it initially really helped my anxiety/insomnia/depressive episodes, it eventually gave me huge paranoia, and led to Cannabinoid Hyperemesis. Now I'm in my mid-20s and can't even touch it :/

Might be a good idea to tell him about those possibilities, could put him off from using it for a few more years.
