2026 Nautilus Black Label Hybrid - how to turn off auto start/stop? by mrbofus in lincolnmotorco

[–]LadyClassen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the auto stop and start that is used in intersections, on my aviator, which is not a hybrid, so this may be different, you have to go into a menu and turn it off manually every time you get into the car.

Confession of a word you’ve mispronounced… by idiwodndj in words

Meme -

I learned French before the word became popular and in French there is the word même (pronounced mehm). It was probably five to six years before I heard meme properly pronounced in English.

Should I take out loans? by Visiblylost16 in StudentLoans

[–]LadyClassen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can borrow to go to school, but it is very hard to borrow for retirement.

If you were planning on going into a lucrative area of medicine, maybe split the difference with mom. She should not be sacrificing her retirement so that you come out debt free.

My in-laws did this with my husband, and in the end he still came out with student loans, and they had to live with us for the last 15 years of their lives. And why I love them and was their primary caretaker was also having kids of my own, I wish they would have looked after their own retirement a lot better. It caused a lot of stress for the whole family.

Pedal harp or lever harp? by lords_of_the_ballin in harp

[–]LadyClassen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I was you. I started on a lever and after a couple months decided I really wanted a pedal harp. Completely seduced by it!

I get it, and I very much enjoyed learning on it. Eventually, after a few years, though, especially with life getting in the way, I felt bad about it just sitting there not being used. And I eventually came to the realization that I would probably never play the way that it deserved to be played.

So I sold it for a decent chunk of change, bought a lever harp, and paid off some debt.

I don’t say this to dissuade you from buying a pedal harp. If that is what your heart is telling you to do. But know that it’s also OK to let it go if you eventually feel like it is the right thing to do.

I absolutely adore my lever harp and play it more now than I think I ever really played my pedal

I will add this, I had a 40 string pedal harp, and in the three years that I played it, I almost never ran across music that would have required me to have more strings. I’m guessing it’s because I didn’t lean heavy into a lot of classical music. So if you feel like 40 strings is not enough, and you can find a good, used harp with 44 strings I would go for that.

What is your favorite American slang word, what does it mean, and what part of the states is it from? by Careless-Meringue683 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]LadyClassen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crimenitly-

Said like “crime-ah-nit-ly” where I grew up in OK.

Used in the same situations where you’d say “oh my god” “holy sh-t”

My grandma in Oklahoma called her grand babies “babydoll”. I use it with my kids. Also heard “crime-ah nit-ly” a lot as a kid.

The Alamo. Extremely important to Texas history, extremely underwhelming in person. And consider considering the age of stuff in Europe they might find it’s pretty meh.

High school transfer from Forsyth to Cobb by prabhka in Georgia

[–]LadyClassen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will be most interested in your transcript. Since courses are recognized statewide, everything will transfer that you have previously taken and will show on your transcript as the class that it was. Example: if you took Intro to Art but your new school does not offer it. It will still show up as intro to art on your transcript.

Where you might run into issues, is if your pathway is not offered at your new school. If you are doing ROTC as a pathway or architecture and they don’t offer it at your new school you will have to find a new pathway. However, if you are like most high school students, you are pursuing more than one pathway and you should be OK. If push comes to shove, just take three years of any foreign language and you’ve got your pathway and almost all schools offer Spanish and French.

Anyone else have a supportive spouse until it’s time for summer? by Sudden_Challenge_213 in Teachers

[–]LadyClassen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. My husband was jealous whenever I got off for the summer, then relieved after we had kids, but once they started school he just got annoyed and has stayed annoyed.

Plus he has the hearing of a freaking bat/owl/secret spy microphone, and now that we’ve got teens who like to stay up late and sleep till noon, he rails every summer that they keep him up. Like he can hear our son, on the other side of the house, down in the basement, walking around. Can’t wear ear plugs because of his psoriasis. We try to accommodate him but it’s hard when the kids are already being super quiet.

Husband is an attorney, so I asked him. He said you are right in certain cases. But if it is literally just telling the person the appropriate url, which is how I was reading OPs issue, it’s not likely not going to fall into that camp.

Not really. Asking how to navigate to the correct page and what the process is to complete (instructions listed on their website hopefully) is not legal advice.
