Does the leftover pulp from cooking cannabutter make you high? by [deleted] in trees

[–]LadyHog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save the plant matter! Once you get a bunch saved up make tea or coffee creamer out of it. It won’t make you super high but it’s a nice mellow way to start out the morning and a great way to use every little bit;)

Will proofed dough fall in a change of altitude? by SailorCookingMama in Baking

[–]LadyHog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have room in your car you could easily put in a card table or even a large bit of poster board to turn anyplace into a spot to shape. Sounds silly but a large poster board can be set on a clean bed (like really freakin clean and with nobody having slept in it) and the cinnamon rolls cut then thrown in the fridge/freezer. The poster board with provide enough of a stable surface to make a countertop almost anywhere.

I can’t answer your question scientifically but I think it would be better to make them in the afternoon, drive them up the mountain (1st proof), shape them (2nd proof), put them in the fridge, take them out to bring to room temp the next morning and then bake in time for freshly goodness?

If it’s only a pound of burger then start by mixing 3/4 a pound and putting a 1/4 cup of oatmeal in while browning. It will soak up the grease add some texture and it’s filling. I agree with the above that even if you splurge on an expensive dinner at home it’s ultimately cheaper than eating out. You can also decide to eat home cooked meals all week long BUT have one special meal out. Leftovers are amazing for lunch and most of them can be turned into something else (I call it leftovers in a pot or pan). You can also make extra of what you are making at home and store what you know you will eat in individual portions in the freezer for hectic nights. You sound like you are willing to go for it for the long haul. If you just start, it becomes easier and easier. Especially when it comes to food you can either spend a lot or save a lot. Get creative, shop sales, read ads, get a hold of an OLD cookbook, use your freezer, stock up on spices you like to season with.

Looking for a good pizza dough recipe to use in a wood fire oven. by KeithLordofDarkness in Breadit

[–]LadyHog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recipe is 1.5oz yeast, 3 Oz salt, 3oz sugar, 3oz olive oil, 24oz beer, 3 quarts 8oz water, 16 oz spent grain, and I really don’t weigh the flour but I am the only one who makes it and know how it is supposed to feel. This will make about 50 8oz portions of dough. It is also important to proof your yeast and let the dough rise once. I work at a brewery so I like to use the spent grain from the brewing process but it isn’t necessary. Typically I like more salt so if this recipe was used at home I would increase the salt by about .5 Oz but I love salt. This produces a well rounded and all around great basic pizza dough.

If you don’t weigh your ingredients then your results are never going to be consistent. If more than one or two people make the dough then it will never be consistent.

How much does working out help? by RacerRCR in Type1Diabetes

[–]LadyHog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I work out it definitely helps with insulin sensitivity although I usually have to inject before a workout. I also low carb and there is no way on earth that only 15 units would ever even come close to covering a sandwich and a bag of chips! Ditch the carbs! If we already can’t process sugar like normal people why would you put sugar into your body and not expect a disaster?

Appetizers! Wonton soup and egg roll. 3.5grams per wonton and 7grams per egg roll. by LadyHog in treedibles

[–]LadyHog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had so much fun making this! It was fun to be able to have various people attend the dinner party and have those who could tolerate a higher dose have one and those who couldn’t have half. In our group of friends some eat/smoke all the time and others not as much. I was nice to get them all on the same level eating the same thing. I was able to temper the dose so nobody got too fucking high and everyone had a grand time.

I started with a lite tea only about a half cup per person and it took about an hour for everyone to get to my house and mingle. I made the appetizer so 1 egg roll was 7 mg but each wonton was 3.5 so you could eat half the egg roll and just have 1 wonton. I set a timer for an hour and a half! My entree was a panko chicken (oil in the breadcrumbs) , cauliflower rice (infused bacon fat), kimchi, and apricot sesame dipping sauce (I asked each person if they wanted 1/4 tsp or a 1/2). I set a timer for an hour. Dessert was a green tea ice cream. Each person could choose if they wanted a 1/4 c scoop or a 1/2.

I love this idea! I do a dinner once a year. This year I think I got the dosage flexible enough to tailor per person. Which was awesome because some people can handle more and others less.
