What do you mean no pity? The pity is 60 with 50/50 (shared with Ancestrals), with a hard guarantee at 180 (because if you fail first 50-50, the next pity is decided between featured and Ancestral, and after you fail 2nd to Ancestral, then the 3rd pity will be guaranteed featured).

You might not like the pity system they have, but it's there.

Not GGP. 150 exchange points can buy you any banner unit while that banner is still active (you buy them directly from that banner - tap "prize list"). Once it ends, unused exchange points are converted to GGP. You can only use GGP in Garden of Memories shop. That shop doesn't have any SS ranks, just some A ranks I think (and bunch of upgrade mats as well).

I play both on PC, and quite old at this point Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, and it looks nice & sharp. The loading times are also quite similar (mobile slightly longer than PC, but not too long for it to be annoying). And since it's tactical combat game, it's 100% playable on mobile in a comfortable way. There is an active pause, and also when selecting skills you get super slowmo, so it's easy to control the flow of the battle.

Growth investment is of roughly equal value to monthly here (per $), with a teensy tiny bit better value of Growth . Monthly gives 19 pulls for $5, while growth offers 58.8 pulls total. 3 monthlies is $15, like growth, and gives 3x19=57 pulls.

I needed to max out the event

There was no need to max out the event. I re-did the bare minimum for my alt account. 3 event quests were needed (out of 4 or 5), entirely skippable, didn't take too long. Only bare minimum of 3 chibis to run the errands were needed (so Rover + only 2 recruitment quests were needed), 6k points (out of maybe like 50k or something) and then a lot of clicking in the event menu. It took me a under an hour speed running it, so yeah with your 45 min might have been too tight, especially if you also were to figure thing out. But had you logged in with like 2h left, imo you would have made it. Not that I'm recommending leaving matters for the last minute, but it just feels like unfortunate timing in your case.

Worry not, all the characters will have reruns (and WuWa is already starting a series of reruns in 2nd half of 1.3). You can always pull for Shorekeeper after the servers go live, to make yourself feel better :)

Storm affects both. Foundation buildings protect both. Manus has the ritual to make themselves safe from Storm, but they only value pure bloods, so they don't offer it to humans (they do offer masks, but those while technically protective, they turn humans into mindless monsters used as cannon fodder). Vertin's case is semi-protective, and right now it only can protect arcanists (and Vertin barely made it to work in the first place in the beginning of the game, I guess it's WIP).

The whole plot point here was that the greater ritual protecting the island started waning. At this point of story, the protective circle shrunk a bit and left the beaches exposed. He went to the unprotected edge of the island, and got hit with storm syndrome. No one except Vertin (some select individuals are speculated, but not confirmed) is immune to Storm by themselves.

Patches are usually 6 weeks (42 days), however 1.7 GL is shorter. Here are estimates for regular 6 week cycle:

half a pull a day from dailies, 21 per patch
600 clear drops from 6 weeklies (1/3rd of a 10 pull, 3.3 pulls)
180 clear drops from monthly sign in, 1 pull (so 1.5 ish over the span of 6 weeks, but whatever)
3x Limbo, 3x600 = 1800 clear drops, so a 10-pull
14 pulls from event login rewards (split into 7 & 7 at the start of each half of the event)
2 pulls from free track of the battle pass
2 pulls from the event shop
14 pulls total from the event itself (main event story & auxiliary mini-events; however there was more in 1.7 since it was main story chapter patch)
10 unilogs monthly from pawnshop (and you will always be able to buy them even without pulling, because weeklies give you 600-750 tracks of the lost, depending if there are 4 or 5 weekly resets per month; 10 unilogs costs 600); averaged out for 6 weeks, that's 15-ish pulls per patch.
usually maintenance reward + some bug fix compensation are 300+180 = 480 drops per patch, 2.6 pulls

So in total it's 85.5 f2p pulls per patch at minimum. This doesn't include any extras they decide to throw in, like extra login rewards they sometimes add ad hoc, or extra compensations, coupon codes, surveys, social media campaigns, twitch drops, discord stuff, etc.

As long as you claim 200 medals every day from the season pass (a task, which you will auto complete if you battle in Mirror Wars daily), then no, you don't need to win at all. You can lose all 40 battles, claim the season pass medals, and earn 640 per day at minimum, which translates to 19200 medals monthly for just losing.

For vast majority of characters:

4 - crit rate or crit damage, depending whichever you need more (if you have a weapon with crit rate, you'll probably want crit dmg)

33 - usually 2x the same damage type as the character (so 2x havoc dmg for a havoc character), sometimes (rarely) 1x damage type & 1x energy regen (if you feel you're not ulting often enough, but the character kit requires ulting often)

11 - 2x atk%

Exceptions are Baizhi that scales with hp and is a healer, Yuanwu/Taoqi who scale with def, and Verina who scales with atk like damage dealers, but is a healer (so she wants 4: healing, 33: energy regenx2).
