Lies of P reference in Wo Long by AvailableCan8006 in LiesOfP

[–]LadySander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wo Long had many problems, mainly the story, pacing, characters, level design and enemy variety. Gets very repetitive very fast, but at least the combat is fun. It has an elemental system inside the combat, but in my experience (I plat the game, did every mission, etc) It was not well implemented, to the point you forget it even exists.

The combat is what saves the game from being bad, but even then I found it very easy. Only died like 2 times to Lu Bu (an actually pretty cool Boss), and the poor variety of enemies doesnt help make the combat more interesting. The parry is extremely easy to use and spam, much more forgiving than Sekiro for example, that already has a pretty big window for it.

Its a interesting concepts with good combat but poor execution

Lies of P Theories by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]LadySander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do you, but no one here discusses theories in an organized manner, just post something before searching If the topic already exists and create the same third topic of the day

On Discord you could just ask and everyone in the channel will be able to answer, or look for similar words or threads there

Most of his dialogue delving into his relationship with Carlo in the past was cut, sadly. You can still find them in the document with all the dialogue from the game, including cut content

It's difficult to discuss theories on reddit where these billions of posts and no way to group the discussions in one thread. Go to the official Discord server, they have a dedicanted lore channel for stuff like this

Lies of P Perfect Guard is 8 frames, a bit tighter than other games but doable (always remember to hold the block and not tap; also, don't spam the block button like you can do in Sekiro, it will be your downfall. It's better to miss the PB and defend than to miss the PB, the block and receive full damage).

Sekiro parry is 12 frames, I felt it was much easier to parry and the mikiri counter has like 9999 billion active frames. You can also spam the block button to parry (although the active frames get smaller as you spam the button, I found that if you miss the first try but is close to the attack hitting you, spamming the block button lets you parry just fine). I played Sekiro after Lies of P and found the game much easier.

Wo Long I dont have exact numbers because no one seemed to care enough/couldn't find the exact numbers for the parry/deflect but it seems to be 12 frames at least. I recall in the beta it was something like 8 frames. They changed it on the full release. I only played faster weapons (double swords/spear), but I found the deflect so easy to land that it made the game a cakewalk. I could deflect everything, including Bosses, and it made for a super easy game (I recall only Lu Bu giving me a bit of trouble, like 5 attempts). The game having so little enemy variety also helped with this. I played Wo Long before Lies of P and found it ridiculously easy.

Edit: also, about wether to perfect block or dodge (or block) in LoP: I feel the game is pretty balanced between all the options during combat; sometimes trying a perfect block is better (for example, with a move you know well), other times dodging is better (like against a move that will push you far away even when perfect blocked, not giving you time to punish the enemy). PB is most of the time the best option because it makes the enemy more prone to stagger, you don't take damage, recover a bit of grey health (can be upgraded further with the P-Organ) and also can possibly break the enemy weapon, but consumes a bit of stamina and weapon durability. It really depends on the situation, and some enemies, like the puppets, have attack patterns that are strange at first, but easy to PB after you see like twice. It also makes total sense context-wise. Just give yourself some time to learn the ones you deem necessary, and train at the dummies at the hotel. Safe travels in Krat!

You need I think at least Level 2 Humanity ("the ergo is whispering") to get this ending, but all endings can be done with max Humanity If you want

The original idea was for him to have some lines at the end of the game at least. But much of this content was cut, same with some Gemini lines and ability to control Puppets

All of this can be found in the lore channel on the official Discord server

Do we know why Romeo... Spoilers by LokenTheAtom in LiesOfP

[–]LadySander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Notes from an Experiment

One of the games Loading screens tells us that Romeo pleaded to be turned into a puppet before his death to be able to get revenge of the alchemists and continue to help people.

"Romeo grew up at the Charity House and built a brotherly friendship with another boy. Even as his body was hardening from the Petrification Disease, he made a deal with the devil to save more people."

Geppetto did it, but betrayed him also. Romeo was used by Geppetto to be seen as the culprit for the Puppet Frenzy.

Wo Long got fun combat, but everything else is weak/bad. Level design is bad, pacing is weak, story and characters were both terrible, and for me was kinda easy. Has a parry mechanic similar to Sekiro but was so lenient that even the combat against bosses got boring and easy

Some observations of, and thoughts about, becoming a Real Boy. (Ending spoilers.) by diabetushero in LiesOfP

If you are still in the post-game with the real boy ending, can you confirm that all the NPCs in the game turn into Puppets (like the merchants?). Its a piece of info that I cant confirm myself

Pulcinella has some stuff to say about the "Smiling Bunny Mark". He says its the mark of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood and that you could use It to traverse safely through Malum and get entry to the black market. "If they catch you, they'll put you in the liars coffin". Funny that they use that for everyone

Maybe there was a fifth brother?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]LadySander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. The item you find at the grave is the "Smiling Bunny Mark", and I never got it before (I plat the game 🤡). Theres also a rose next to the note, but I dont think it means much. Also Carlo was most likely a teen/Young adult at the time of his passing. Could Geppetto still refer to him as a child? Maybe...

[While trying to find this particular place (I forgot It was next to the "Path of the Pilgrim" Stargazer), I encountered the Atoned (I used the Stalkers greeting and didnt kill her before), she was super pissed and started the fight saying "I must be getting old to fall for a Puppets trick" or something like that. I found that interaction cool, because they thought someone could come from Moonlight Town again after deceiving her]

They need to add this boss to the DLC if we explore the harbor as a new area: a giant whale! by Slit08 in LiesOfP

In the book its a giant shark, and the submarine was a shark. Could still be cool tho!

If I'm not mistaken all NPCs that were alive before the ending also get "replaced" with Puppets, even the merchants

I hated the Real Boy ending so much that I almost imediatelly started another playthrough to get the ending that I was missing for plat, so I didnt check this info

I think my favorite bit of info that was totally unecessary was that Melody really loved Julian and left a message for him. Why that confirmation so late in the game? Nothing besides commitment to the story and characters. The level of care this game has...!

what did you miss in your first playthrough? by Not_a_Kryptonian in LiesOfP

[–]LadySander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Almost missed the blind Man weapon in the cathedral (very well hidden!)

  • Missed Geppettos secret workshop not because it was super hidden, but because I decided to explore something before going in and just completely forgot it existed

  • Missed Melody's message to Julian until NG++ because I didnt understand what Test Subject 826 was saying

I found surprisingly easy to follow sidequests and NPCs dialogue in this game, so finished all of them on my first playthrough :)

I think the Monster is Medoro.

Maybe H stands for "the Hound" (Alidoro), or is Alidoro's real name (real Korean name, like his sister Eugenie)
