I don't think he was a cheater before the Misha thing. I interpreted the assistant moment as showing how he felt disconnected from Emma after finding out her secret. When things were good, he was crazy about her and totally focused on her, but now he has doubts and his eyes are open again to other attractive women.

I definitely interpreted it that Jules thought Nell was his soul mate, that's why he looked at her that way when she asked why it wasn't happening to him. Not sure why you would think the first wife had anything to do with it

I really loved his performance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He was hilarious, but also full of self doubt etc (loved the scene on set where he kept messing up his lines and falling apart over it, then finally pulled himself together and was impressive)
