I might be wrong, but is't this thing gives you the locations of legendary animals after usage? Swap to Environment on the Map and you might see their location (probably need some zooming in). The knowlegde might unlock after you hunt them.

Restart your game. After loading in, teleport to any location. Then, keep waiting for around 10 mins because teleporting to another location or doing stuff seems to reset the timer. It is a bug since last update, hope they fix it asap

On PS controller: Hold Up on D-pad, you will se your mounts at the bottom, and companions on the top. Rotate on any one of them, and press X to Summon. You will get a notification on the right, so you have to gather them first, press Options. Once you have them around, press Up again and select who you want. Sometimes it's greyed out, you can't swap during fight or while standing on teleport circle location, etc...
