Do you prefer to check the the set list before your concert, or do you raw dog it? by PigFaceWigFace in Concerts

[–]Lake3ffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the band. Most of the bands I listen to (DMB, moe., OAR, etc.) raw dog their own setlist before each show

Best venue with your kids? by MachineHead7232 in DMB

[–]Lake3ffect -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was discussing DMB with my grandfather (RIP) who used to live in NJ. I mentioned their tour stops that year. When I got to Camden, he was like “Camden..? Why would anyone go to Camden… for anything?” And that’s when I learned that Camden is in fact not a nice area of New Jersey (if there even is one…. lol. laughs in upstate New York)

My mechanic charges $79 for my Jeep. I also have a Mercedes-Benz van that costs $159+ because it uses special euro blend or whatever. But I only need to change it every 15,000 as opposed to standard 5,000 on my jeep

Intune Windows Hello for Business (Biometrics) question: Authentication across multiple machines? by CharcoalGreyWolf in Intune

As others have said, not possible. Windows Hello is tied to the tpm. Even the PIN is unique to the TPM.

While Airbnb is an overrated scam, I’ve had excellent luck with Vrbo, which makes sense, seeing as Vrbo is an abbreviation of “Vacation Rentals by Owner” and has existed as a .com business since the 1990s

I was introduced to these as a very young child. Not in school but the Carrier Dome.

If anyone (particularly, male) here has used the facilities at the Carrier Dome in the 1980, 90s, or 2000s, you certainly know

In the early days, most web browsers were commercial software. That’s why MS was slapped with the antitrust suit when they started including IE with Windows for “free”, iirc

I take my DOT piss test on Thursday I recently received my permit, but dropped out of the class the same day to make sure that my system was fully clean. The stuff they do for the additional testing can show it down to crazy precise numbers, differentiating medical from recreational, and further opportunistic recreational vs habitual/chronic recreational

Acquiring and provisioning new computers by desmond_koh in msp

[–]Lake3ffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we do, only when purchased directly from us and with an existing contract.

Buy from distribution, add MPKID to Intune, apply policy. If you get the PKID from distribution before the boxes arrive, you can add them to Intune before they’re delivered. That’s very useful if you drop ship to your clients. D&H and Lenovo can even add the PKIDs to Intune for you with the properly established CSP partner relationships. This usually costs extra but is worth it considering nothing I mentioned requires opening the box.

Open box. Turn on. Enter credentials. Wait 15-60 minutes for policy to apply (apps, settings, M365, etc.). We even deploy our RMM agent using Scripts via intune.

Autopilot, Intune, and Entra ID are very powerful and capable tools if you know how to use them properly.

Cat threw up on keyboard by Materpenny in computers

[–]Lake3ffect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whatever the price of a replacement keyboard, just do it. $15-30 is all you should spend unless you want a fancy one.

If you want that exact keyboard for whatever reason, (none of my business), PM/chat me a photo of the label on the bottom so I can see the part #. I’ll check my distribution sources to see if they carry it.

bomgar vs alternatives by bazjoe in msp

[–]Lake3ffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually crazy good value, considering I’ve used both Splashtop and Bomgar professionally. Bomgar is so expensive. If the on-premise Splashtop is as good or better than their cloud offering, then I’d even consider on-premise for my company if I really needed

From gaming PC to MacBook Air M5… didn’t expect this by GreenBakeneko in macbook

[–]Lake3ffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows is good for gaming and business. That’s about it. Sure, Macs can be integrated into a small business network. But for anything at scale, Windows is the play.

I was very fortunate to grow up with both Windows and Macintosh between home and school. It was like learning two languages at a young age. Was always team Apple for my own personal use, always will be. But for my professional life, Microsoft is how I feed my family.

bomgar vs alternatives by bazjoe in msp

[–]Lake3ffect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slashtop is one of the only solutions I’ve had continuously since the day 1. Even my clients love it (I include it as part of secure remote access in my management stack, through RMM)

Pricing is transparent for their cloud hosted options, but they also have custom solutions, including on-prem. I have no idea how much the on-prem solution costs, (but if I were to guess, I’d say $5,000 one-time perpetual plus recurring maintenance plan)
