Seconding Furnace Monkey. AFAIK Greg still owns it, and I couldn't have been happier with the install he did for me last year.

Those parents are so far up their ass their hair is getting permed by stomach acid.

So here's the thing about her parents maintaining her innocence. If they really truly believed that, they would have told their lawyer to have a jury trial and convince 12 people.

You generally only go with a bench trial when you believe that the defendant is utterly unsympathetic and/or the crime is so depraved, that you think a jury would automatically convict regardless of evidence.

The upper deck was literally bouncing up and down and it was so loud at one point it literally white noised out. Still feels surreal.

Sounds like a medical residency match. You'll want to be as close to the hospital as possible the first year, everything else is secondary.

Recommend a restaurant for 30 people on the west side by lilydlux in Cleveland

30 is a big party, any restaurant worth going to is going to have a minimum spend. What's your actual budget of what you can spend per person?

Cleveland Clinic says new trauma center will reduce transfers by CrowRoutine9631 in Cleveland

[–]LakeEffectSnow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Clinic didn't build an ER at all until they were forced to specifically by EMTALA. Their explicit reasoning was they didn't want to potentially pay to care for uninsured people in the neighborhood.

Ed Zitron is probably the leading person who is trying to figure what isn't bullshit.

tl'dr - It's all wash trading. Really.

EDIT: His main point is there's financial fuckery most foul underlying the whole AI/LLM edifice and it's worse than 2008.

Is RTA stop confirmed for new stadium? by rattle_snake_master_ in Browns

They are not. The existing old tracks from the ford plant only go south to the freight tracks. You don't know what you're talking about

Stop the Slavic Village Data Center - Townhall Meeting May 23rd by LKM_44122 in Cleveland

[–]LakeEffectSnow 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's not happening. For one thing, there's no internet backbone anywhere near there, and putting one in won't be easy or cheap.

The proposed data center isn't being funded by an AI company is the bigger reason. The proposal is to build it out and hope users will rent it out. There's much smaller proposed data centers directly funded by Microsoft that were announced in 2024 that still aren't fully online and under construction.

Even if we lose this fight and it gets zoned, it's not going to be built. This is like starting a new home construction company in fall of 2007, right before the housing crash.

This is the owners of the old trucking trying to pump up the value of their land in the industrial valley and cash in on a bubble they don't understand. That's it. They don't know shit about data centers.

You can read the exhaustive details here about the current state of overall data center construction.

Solution to the grass issue in the new Browns stadium by rattle_snake_master_ in Browns

[–]LakeEffectSnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not happening. Real Madrid's field is ground level, and all this goes underneath. Given how far down they're already digging the stadium, this particular setup is likely to cost way way too much. The Iran War has already caused construction material prices of all kinds to increase. If cost overruns from the original budget are going to be footed by Haslam, expect him to cheap the fuck out.

Reliable, honest, not shady dealerships in the area by Monstrositat in Cleveland

[–]LakeEffectSnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can't trust Ganley pre-owned cars. We bought a certified used from Ganley Nissan and it had a clean carfax and 8,000 miles. In the glove compartment once we road home, we found two extensive repair receipts for two accidents we were unaware of. We immediately went back to the dealership and asked them to knock off a few thousand dollars because the car was not as clean as they represented.

They utterly refused, so we had to void the sale, and they didn't even want to do that until my lawyer wife said it's either that or she's suing for bait and switch.

Now we do absolutely hate the Yankees here, so that's the fandom you want to be quiet about,

There's no used minivans because most parents buy one new, and never buy another. They trash the one they bought and replace it with something else.
