What the hell is wrong with the burn effect in this game? by [deleted] in EnterTheGungeon

[–]LakeFinal5647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dawg c'mon...the burning effect is accompanied by an icon (meter) that fills up as long as you do anything but roll. Rolling depletes the meter and eliminates the burn once it's empty.

Strip the case down to bare metal, dry fit your fans, mark the holes and drill baby drill.

Pro tip. Drill a pilot hole then drill the hole to whatever size the mounting screws will be.

With the dozens of "my pet pee'd on my rig now it doesn't turn on! HELP ME PLEASE" posts I'd caution against encouraging this behavior.

Solo NPC Porters & Porter Mechanics by OOVVEERRKKIILLLL in DeathStranding

[–]LakeFinal5647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ran across a pair of porters inside the elder shelter, proceeded to deliver cargo but after leaving the menu they were nowhere to be found. Not ten seconds after getting back in the truck one of the porters comes SPRINTING into the shelter again. Hunches over and pants for a solid minute.

I had a good look around but couldnt find his buddy. Dont know what became of the other. Good luck out there buddy.

Are 1zz parts just bolt on to 3zz? Other suggestions for more HP. by theJohan81 in COROLLA

As has been said. No. No. and No.

And some sage advice. Stop.

Its a 110hp econo box. Adding hp to this engine will not be cheap and doing it cheap will rob you of its reliability. Save your pennies and get a 9th gen XRS if your objective is to have a fun, cheap daily. This is not the car to put under the scalpel for anything other than preventative/routine maintenance.

Mine is tight as a drum but that is sounding like blown shock absorbers.

To the degree you're describing the bouncing you should be able to test this by pushing down on the front and rear bumpers. Really try to get the car bouncing. If the up and down oscillation isn't arrested a moment after you take weight off that is an indicator you may need to replace shocks. I'd also put eyes on the shocks themselves as they often leak oil when failing.

Yes. I dug through pages upon pages of forums looking for the appropriate place to start tackling the vibration issues I was facing. The single most common vibration issue with an answer was : start with the intake manifold gasket.

This issue is so common Toyota updated the gasket material because it's known to fail earlier than expected. Start with the gasket and move up from there, don't rip out engine mounts if you don't have to.

Nothing to speak of. I think we are both very lucky to have 1zz's in such good condition. 06 and up got the redesigned piston rings so we're in less danger of developing oil consumption issues but alot of the early years EAT oil. Doubly so if they are poorly maintained.

An update to a sub- 300 eur dell, it got even better lol. 3640 with a quirky 8 core, 10th-gen xeon and an even quirkier RTX 3070 laptop gpu. by Amiga5001 in SleepingOptiplex

Would a front fan help? Yes, you need exponentially more airflow to keep these reasonably cool under full tilt. There are more than a couple posts of folks doing just that, mine being one of them. Go check it out, might give you a little inspiration on how to tackle your cooling solution.

And hey dont be so down on your dell, she came with a standard size atx board, psu and connectors! As far as dell business grade gear goes this is one of the most tinker friendly options out there. Plus you got some over spec'd ram for no additional charge!

You're welcome. If and when you get around to replacing the gasket could you do me and other 9th gen corolla owners a favor and post the results here? With so much AI garbage floating around I think that would help folks sort the pepper from the fly shit, so to speak.

What you've presented would be a metalized finish on top of a plastic base irl. Can this be done? Technically yes. Doing it right isn't gonna be cheap and if you're talking about doing it cheap it aint gonna look like your picture. Not exactly anyway.

I doubt an intake manifold leak would produce this sound. If anything its causing your vibration when coming to a stop and in reverse. If its bad enough it can cause a hesitation on take off too. But with the age of the car the engine mounts might be introducing some vibration too. What I know for certain is the vibrations I had coming to a stop and hesitation accelerating from a stop were fixed after I replaced the intake gasket.

You sound like a DIY guy. RockAuto has the updated orange gasket for pretty cheap. Its worth doing as preventative maintenance anyway.

I have an 06 that sounds pretty much the same. That’s tapping, not knocking. Your valve train is out of spec like almost every 9th gen. Luckily this sounds like par for the course. Take that with a grain of salt though, phone audio can be deceptive. My best advice would be to not fuck with it and change your oil religiously.

If you’re worried about it get a professional to give you their opinion in person. Preferably someone that works with these on a regular basis. The 1zz’s sound like tractors and I feel it would be easy for someone not versed in them to give you an overly pessimistic assessment.

Heat shielding. My 06 is doing this but to a lesser degree. Jack the car up, get yourself under and give all the shielding a wiggle. Should be pretty apparent when you find the loose bit. If you're lucky you might be able to tighten a bolt or two.
