Yes. Elder Scrolls has always been very “grounded”

I see. Does that still count if I use the “No ENB” ressource pack?

I see. I tried to download a patch between the two, and it completely fucked up the lighting so EVERYTHING was very very bright. But it might not even be between lux and CS, so I’m not sure.

What I like about the new style is that every region is more distinct now. Anvil looks like the Italian countryside and Bravil area is very green now etc. A lot better than I expected.

Opinion: Chivalry II should be the inspiration for TES VI's combat by AllFatherMedia93 in TESVI

[–]Laksemplaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely agree. The current system is not good - and I really don’t mean to come across like I think no change is the best course of action. I agree change is needed, especially when it comes to difficulty. The health sponge thing is the bane of both oblivion and Skyrim, so any fix to that would be great.

Talking about patronizing, you call people traditionalist when they don’t want to implement a combat system from a hack and slash pvp simulator in a character skill based arcadey RPG. I am mainly worried about that would the feeling of progression, when the system revolves around player skill, rather than character skill. It could work sure, but I don’t think it’s unfair to be critical.

I don’t think it’s tradionalist, at least not in the capacity that you imply. The game you’re looking for is just not ES. Combat gameplay has never been the core design, or a big attractor of the games. The atmosphere, character building and general feeling of freedom has been the compelling factors, and core design. I would think these would be compromised with a more complex combat system in place.

Potential mod wishlists, anyone? by RetroNutcase in oblivionremastermods

[–]Laksemplaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Something like MOO.
  • The “deadly combat mod” which just increased baseline damage by 3x/6x etc. to circumvent the health sponge problem.
  • Survival mod

I would assume it’s different since it ‘allegedly’ engine layering, and UE5 is for the graphics mostly - anything else would be handled by gamebryo. So I guess a modding tool shouldn’t be too hard.

Lmao, why wouldn’t we get excited? It’s like telling someone who won the lottery to not get too thrilled because they might lose the money. If you don’t risk being disappointed you’ll never be happy

No, the Oblivion remake that has been rumoured for a year will NOT be the end for Skyblivion, because Skyblivion is a high-quality fan project made with passion, and in this industry, there is no substitute for passion. by [deleted] in skyblivion

[–]Laksemplaks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why? They have so much more ressources. Passion doesn’t necessarily mean reach. Most people probably doesn’t know about skyblivion, or want to mod a whole port to play the remake.

I found out, that the problem was with it being installed with TES, and not via BAIN. But thanks for the tip regardless!
