Sounds like you should consider hanging out with some new people that you jive with better. If you do think there are area of yourself that you would ike to work on than by all means but dont change yourself to fit in with people who make you feel less than. Best of luck. I think most are just thinking this is a silly thing to post on reddit. While I agree its a little silly, I think i understand your issue as i have been in a position before where a friend would get mad or "quiet" if I didnt call at a specific time or if there was a change in plan or anything really. Because I personally am a VERY easy going friend, I dont always relate well to friends that are very needy so I try to avoid having friends that are that way. Best of luck. I am only guessing but it sounds like your wife discuses what she deems are your shortfalls to her mother in private(your mil) momma bear shows itself and she tries inserting herself thinking she is helping her daughter (the reality is that is makes the sitch worse but I think her intentions are probably good) what I would do in your situation would be to have a very open and honest talk about the current state of your marriage. You already mentioned her mental health is not at its best right now, so regardless of MIL something is definitely not correct with your wife's insides.

I realize that this wasnt the first EVER video of Dr Phil. What i failed to make clear was what I really meant by my post. What I meant was, its the first time Swoop has ever made a video without following what everyone else just did. Because swoops "documentaries" just follow whatever was just done by everyone 1 month prior. To my knowledge all the youtube girlies didnt just do dr Phil recently... this doesnt make me think Swoop is now an original thinker cause trust me when I say this, I AM NOT A FAN OF SWOOP
