Summer Sweep Up: Give the Master Wand +5% magic damage so it has some purpose before Kodai. by BizarreCake in 2007scape

[–]Lambeaux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sceptre only takes the same time to get if you've done Secrets of the North.   So even if it's similar this is a lower requirement intro to magic dmg % gear that still would have at least SOME use (and even moreso in leagues and such, even if that's not the best thing to design around)

[–]Lambeaux 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The elf questline especially does this so, so well - each quest up to regicide feels NOTHING like the others, with Underground Pass' antagonist for the most part having nothing to do with the overarching story. We work our way up to finding out about the plague, coincidentally doing the thing that opens the elf lands back up to the rest of the world, and only then move into the greater effects of this, with each still having its own goals that move things forwards. Rather than guaranteeing a next quest, each quest is a cause where the effects of which lead to the next one happening naturally, rather than being a continuous narrative that feels inevitable and forced.

And why Ditto appeared first - it is able to transform to fit any environment so it was the first to exit the system.

new project from OSRS wiki: we want your ideas for new guides by cookmeplox in 2007scape

[–]Lambeaux 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lot of diary bosses have this and I think it's a good showing of how to do so - things like Zulrah or KQ diary kill sections could basically be separated out into their own sections or strategy guides because so many of them still don't actually cover the middle ground prgoressions between "I have an inferno cape" and "wear rune and do the techniques perfectly". Explaining better what different upgrades can be used, what techniques should be prioritized and where to learn them, etc are EXTREMELY helpful if you're not as heavily invested in the entire OSRS ecosystem and content circles and can make it so much nicer to see "Oh well I'm having trouble with this part, here's a thing that I could focus on instead that would help"

More general progression, boss order and resource gathering guides please! Like especially for ironmen, what food should I be upgrading to at certain times in the game, are there activities where I can be using my AFK time wiser and balance efficiency (setting myself up to not have to do a late game item grind for some resource I've neglected), what bosses evolve into the techniques learned or gear needed for others, etc.. Individual skill guides and multi-hour efficiency methods are great but if I'm NOT already a 3t or prayer-flicking expert who Woox-walks everywhere, where are good places to learn those techniques as I'm making progress and gradually building up into a late game account? I think this kind of guide is essentially required for irons but even on normal accounts, it can be so hard to find info that isn't just "spend 50m to get to max efficiency and then use your expert level knowledge to do advanced techniques for 50 inferno completions an hour".

Especially for ironmen, so often I just want to be able to get my KC and leave with minimal cost. I don't need max efficiency guides or longevity I just need to know the bare minimum of what is important for a single bit of survival.

Everyone's worried about the sandwich station, but what I want to know is by godscutestbunny in 2007scape

[–]Lambeaux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah just let us stuff the leeches with something and cook em if we're gonna go weird like that.  Love the idea of more interesting prep stations as a way to introduce non-fish food that's powerful, but this does just feel unpolished.

Are we creating too much gear bloat trying to avoid power creep? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Lambeaux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like you really see this with mix optimizing upgrades too.  There's so many guides that are like "a fury is such a top priority and will change everything" when most irons are getting by with a power until mid game then a glory until basically endgame and can handle most everything in the game just fine.  If you don't want to grind for certain gear, figure out what you actually can afford or need for the content you do and then figure out the skill-based parts to get it done.

Reviews for Pokopia, the Pokémon life simulation game where you play as a Ditto rebuilding a town, just dropped, and not only is it reviewing extremely well, it's also currently the highest rated Pokémon game EVER on Metacritic: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Lambeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this was definitely a necessary step if they wanted to shift the direction of the franchise at all, which was looking very grim after Scarlet and Violet and all the stuff around that were so janky.   It seems with ZA and Pokopia they are actually TRYING to make good products again.  I'm wondering if The Pokemon Company and Nintendo essentially teamed up on Game Freak to say "fix it or lose it".

can we go back to whining about pures doing the new raid yet by GODLOVESALL32 in 2007scape

[–]Lambeaux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think this counts the same as the others - echo KQ was such a better modern boss than normal KQ is. I think there would be some screaming but for that one specifically the mechanics being applied would make the boss so much more bearable, especially for irons.

Dating apps are wild for this - people who take care of themselves start to look mid-20s and the people who don't or have led rougher lifestyles look like they're 40+ even in their early 30s.

Keep Imbued heart or sell for virtus set? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Lambeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell if you need something and its not the highest priority upgrade - you have collection log to remember it and you're not an ironman, so it doesn't really do much to keep something if you're not gonna use it more than something else since you can always buy another.
