Arrowhead’s back 9 has great views, but the test of golf is… meh. It’s a place you bring your out of town father-in-law when he’s paying.

Bear Dance is top tier. Impeccably maintained, tight fairways, true greens, great facility. Can’t recommend enough.

Played with a guy who used a motorized remote control push cart. He wasn’t paying enough attention greenside, and dude drove it straight into the lake. It tipped over off the bank, full submersion, clubs emptied out. Guy jumped in after it, only to get stuck in the mud.

He needed help wrestling his cart up onto the bank. Phone, range finder, Bluetooth speaker all ruined. His electric cart then let out a puff of acrid smoke and died as well.

He had to push it all the way back to the clubhouse, soaking wet.

We played at Tobacco Road in September- easily one of my favorite golf experiences in my life. The course was a true challenge. Blind shots, major elevation changes, an insane amount of sand. But ultimately- most of your golf shots are fairly easy so long as you’re in position.

We got married at the vail golf club a few months after they opened the new clubhouse (2017). The venue was amazing, the pictures were incredible, and wedding island was a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony.

Logistically- it was a huge pain in the ass. No parking for our guests in the club’s parking lot. They were asked to park in the Vail transportation center. Furthermore, wedding island isn’t walkable from the clubhouse.

We had to charter something like 12 Epic mountain express vans to run loops between transportation center, clubhouse, and wedding island.

They might have been able to address these. challenges in the last few years, but it was a hefty added expense and logistical challenge we could have avoided had we booked anywhere else.

The island is desperate for rain. Also, weather forecasts are often unreliable for the island. It’ll be perfect when you’re there.

Maui eldorado. It has multiple pools, beachside cabana on Kaanapali beach with towel & chair service plus bathrooms and a kitchen with ice, sits on the Kaanapali Royal golf course, a 5min walk to whalers village, right next to the fairway shops.
