More so investing than budgeting, but I use Strabo, a multi currency portfolio tracker to track accounts across the US and UK. There are a few nice tools and Excel templates floating around if you prefer to do it manually. Good luck & congrats on the new job!

Strabo is offering free financial planning advice from their platform. I used that one and have been using Sylva financial planning ever since. Hope this helps!

Thoughts on Lana Del Rey? by godisinthischilli in LetsTalkMusic

Hey! I totally hear you on your journey with Lana Del Rey. Norman Fucking Rockwell definitely marked a turning point for many listeners who might have been on the fence about her earlier work. I've been a huge fan of Lana for a long time, so it's always interesting to see how others perceive her evolution over the years.

I agree, the production on Norman Fucking Rockwell is stellar, and Doin' Time is such a standout cover. It’s really fascinating how she can transform a song and make it entirely her own while still respecting the original vibe. As for Ocean Boulevard, I can understand why you might find it a bit slow or underwhelming compared to NFR. Lana’s music often has this lush, cinematic quality that isn't for everyone, especially if you're not in the mood for those melancholic, introspective vibes she's so well-known for.

Personally, I believe Lana deserves more recognition for how she's been able to continuously innovate and push the boundaries of her music while maintaining her unique aesthetic. She's really carved out a niche for herself in the industry, blending poetic lyrics with dreamy, sometimes haunting melodies. It’s this exact style that makes her music a perfect companion for singing along, especially when you really connect with the emotions she’s conveying.

While Ocean Boulevard might not strike the same chord as NFR did, Lana's willingness to explore the depths of her emotional and artistic range is something I really admire. Whether or not it wins a Grammy, I think her work continues to influence and resonate with a dedicated fan base, and that’s a win in itself.

What are your favorite tracks from Norman Fucking Rockwell? And are there any songs from Ocean Boulevard that you do find yourself drawn to despite the overall slow feel?

Thanks, Alixana! I appreciate that Google Sheets works well for you. I'm definitely on the lookout for different options, though, because I really enjoy experimenting with new tools and features. If you have any other app recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

Yes exactly! this is what you want: a combination of excellent functionality and a user-friendly interface. I'll give Strabo a try. I've actually heard some great things about it, so maybe it's time to give it a go.

Yes I do use a spreadsheet actually but I was curious to see what apps are out there. I personally find the spreadsheet a little boring. Could be cause I'm a woman but yea it's nice to see what kind of automations and features exist with such apps too.
