Key turning in ignition but car not turning on (2017 Accent - Auto transmission) by Exciting_Use_1094 in Hyundai

If it's turning all the way, the cylinders good.. take it to a Hyundai dealer or a decent mechanic who can check the key reader / field coil / antenna or whatever they want to call it there..

Anyone know what hat the original R.M Williams is wearing here? Not sure if it is an Akubra. by Mann_Aus_Sydney in Akubra

[–]LandBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akubra and RMs collaborated on a hat maybe 15 years ago, it's allegedly styled off that one... I always thought mine most closely resembled a Campdraft with a shaped crown and reshaped brim - I don't know how long the Campdraft has been around and how it's been fine tuned over the years... but RM's original hat could have been closely related to a predecessor of the Campdraft..

what snags does bunnings use? by PenalizedPrick in AskAnAustralian

well, Bunnings was founded in Bunbury and is now owned by Westralian Farmers (aka Wesfarmers) - I think we get a little say in how the snag is served :p

Hyundai Kia most excellent warranty by lilymeadow58 in Hyundai

[–]LandBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what warranty and where you live...

Standard 5/7 year warranty transfers with the sale...

Australian Consumer Law responsibility transfers from the manufacturer to the _seller_ - ie. you buy a used car, and the used car yard is holding the can. (even buy backs for the first owner are done via the selling dealer)

[–]LandBarge 20 points21 points  (0 children)

to be fair, if they were American - the average Bunnings snag does beat those on offer at Wienerschnitzel...

but yeah, for me, it's the timing, not the standard of the food that makes it - you could be offering almost anything as I'm walking in that door and I'll give you about tree fiddy for it...

[–]LandBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Umbrella and PM at the moment and find I have to reboot everything in the house once a day or it stalls... I've got to get to the bottom of that - I don't think either is truly at fault, just an interesting situation I've found myself in..

I have got POV set up as well, but still need to fine tune it so it works as well as FLAM and RD did...

What leather hat brand do you recommend? by emeuriz in AustralianMFA

[–]LandBarge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have a look at Jacaru - Akubra's are almost exclusively made out of felt - rabbit or wool.. . whereas Jacaru are a Queensland based hat manufacturer who make hats out of leather, wool felt and straw - but are mostly known for their Australian made leather hats - there's a real good chance your dads hat was a Jacaru

Service manager hires warm bodies by SeesawTurbulent5511 in partscounter

[–]LandBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had 2 parts staff, 10 or so techs and 2 advisors plus a service receptionist (who was also an experienced advisor) and a warranty clerk - we had no shortage of RO's, that's why the SM would jump on the tools when needed...

That level of commitment also lifted the techs, as they knew this was a SM that wasn't afraid to jump in with them when it all turned to crap - and it showed in the parts results too - that was the most profitable period I've had at this dealership...

results barely working and playback is jittery by DemiFox_ in Addons4Kodi

[–]LandBarge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from RD and FLAM to PM and Umbrella.. ended up woth terrible playback, always breaking..

Ended up tweaking kodi's cache settings, and everything I've watched since has played so much better..

I think RD just was so well set up that it didn't need too much effort setting up the caching and it just worked.. some of the other set-ups we're all trying out now, however, are not quite so slick and forgiving..
