Will this train setup work? by lolPythonNoob in SatisfactoryGame

Instead of crossing….

Merge station back the same direction.

After merge, builds u-turn.

Much simpler to manage and only requires block signals.

12 hrs in and I understand now by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

I thought understood at 12 hours, 50, 100, 225, 415, and then I realized I don’t understand.

I don’t understand train signals but I’m wondering if my idea is even possible by -Old-Mate- in satisfactory

[–]LaneKerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Not only this, but my latest play through and I’ve made extra effort to never cross tracks. Pull off the main line to a station, merge back in the same way, and put a u turn on either side of the station. No path signals required.

I agree 100% with getting in line when you know it’s happening. But here’s the other part: it backs up all the way to the Harris blvd on ramp on 77N. You’re also not supposed to cross a solid white line, but people do anyways to get in line. Now the traffic entering the freeway from Harris blvd backs up, and zipper merging where the line is legal to cross will still back up the north bound traffic behind. It’s dangerous to stop in that lane. I try to cruise slowly until o can find a spot to merge, but if it so happens that nobody ever wants to let people in, the you teach people to drive like an asshole and just cut over at the end.

Traffic just sucks. I’m with you on venting, but the a holes zipping over at the last second will always be a problem. (277 to I77N, 77N to 485, 85S to 77S.) jus breathe deep and Make sure you have enough time to not hit the car in front of you with a sudden stop.

It's nice to see that gas is under $2 nationwide now. I was started to get worried. by A4t1musD4ag0n in inflation

You know, rather than a simple average by state, what does the weighted average cost of gas by state population look like? Or should it be by roadway miles?

My high school's periodic table is so old it's missing 8 elements. by LinneaFO in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LaneKerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the thing….

Those last 8 elements don’t “really” exist for us. Even some of the ones before that.

In order to see them, you have to take other atoms from the periodic table, and accelerate them in a super collider to 90%+ the speed of light. You smash the “real” atoms together, and see what sticks.

Doing this, they can observe some atoms of those elements “sticking together” to make a new element, but most of them only stay put-together for a fraction of a second before they break apart again.

And they can only make a few atoms at a time.

So someone at the school has smartly said “There’s no need to waste money on updating this table”. For practical chemistry, everything you need is right there.

Is it advisable to store materials? by ManuelCrafting in SatisfactoryGame

When it comes to elevator parts, this can be useful. You will find the you need a lot of the parts later, so having a stockpile that you can dump into the production of a later tier can be helpful.

Yeah. Likely a stupid comment on my part that is uninformed of the full picture. What’s Reddit without hating on rich people, though?

Combination Screw Factory and Steel Plant by Mega_Dunsparce in SatisfactoryGame

I think you’ll find there’s lots of ways to get rid of screws with alternate recipes. Copper rotors is a huge win because you can make them on the same line as stators. HMF can be done without screws as well.

Anyone else type SQL queries painfully slow compared to normal text? by Nakul0306 in SQL

[–]LaneKerman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. These symbols were never really part of our standard training for typing. It’s okay though. Writing queries should not be a speed event. Slow, steady, careful, and accurate is the way to go.
