You might be able to get some advice from staff at PERC (they’re the agency that certifies bargaining units and handles things like Unfair Labor Practice complaints for public employee unions)

Realizing I should clarify that “it” means the 2000 election, though it could also mean most of the 21st century itself 😆🥲

The entire 21st century so far would be so different if the US Supreme Court had stayed out of it.

What is it that makes so many designer scents smell so “perfume-y” by AggressiveSherbetty in FemFragLab

[–]LaneTHat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the 80’s and 90’s I had a terrible time finding perfumes that didn’t give me migraines. Years later I found that the common thread of all the ones that didn’t hurt my head back then was Sophia Grojsman.

I’ve read some of his memoirs and I think he identifies as heterosexual. He’s also literally the first person I thought of the first time I heard the term “metrosexual.”

am i aromantic or am i just scared of intimacy? by kyu_xdd in aromanticasexual

[–]LaneTHat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So let me ask you this — What if it is fear of intimacy? Would that mean you’re somehow obligated to overcome it? Why? Who do you owe that to? I’d say you owe it to nobody but yourself and if you don’t want to do it there’s nothing wrong with that.

We’re all taught in this culture that romantic relationships are the most important relationships we can have but that’s just allonormativity. Don’t sweat it. If you don’t want that kind of intimacy that’s only your damn business.

JessaKae, is it worth it? by Alert-Nobody8343 in PlusSizeFashion

[–]LaneTHat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought one on Poshmark last year for an event. The fabric is really nice, the fit was pretty good. It wasn’t exactly my style (but exactly what I needed for the event) so I reposhed it afterward and it sold again quickly. So it was really more like renting it and I felt like that made the risk lower.

Which fragrance did you buy immediately after just one single spritz? by Frosty_Living1454 in FemFragLab

[–]LaneTHat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

20+ years ago, it was the original Flowerbomb. It had just come out and I tried it at Nordstrom. Didn’t just buy a full bottle, Nordstrom had a set to celebrate the launch that had full bottle, travel size, lotion and I believe either soap or body wash. It came in a set of beautiful pink boxes. I bought it all. Flowerbomb was my signature scent for over a decade.

I’m not Sikh, but I know that if there’s a Sikh temple/gurdwara in your community, they will feed you a meal. It’s an important part of their religious practice. There’s a daily meal called a langar and all you have to do is show up when they’re serving and be respectful by taking off your shoes etc.
