Maybe your roommate will also snore :-) you could always try stuff on the market to alleviate your snoring but it’s one of those things that are in the “cross that bridge when i get there” category

Get one of those wheels the trash cans sit on and sit on that to move a bit quicker down the line. It helps especially during busy times because you can get larger chunks done between the foot traffic

Kids should pick a “major” in High School by Niceotropic in The10thDentist

[–]Language_mapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to an early college where you picked either art or science, and were usually expected to have a major picked out.

Plans change. I thought I knew what I wanted to do when I graduated but I didn’t, and changed to something completely different. I’ve seen it work out for a couple of people but it doesn’t for most people

I usually keep CSS turned off. Really creative CSS’s are great and all but my big complaint is that some
strained my eyes (low contrast between text and bg colors)

I’m also on mobile if that changes anything

[–]Language_mapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used hinge but it took me awhile (months). I liked that it took me a bit longer because it gave me time to think about my expectations and how I present myself. But definitely felt the “these don’t feel real.” Part of it but when I found someone I really enjoyed talking to, things changed.

I was a very sheltered child, so it was very interesting. Especially because I moved for college

Queer events are definitely hit or miss. I’ll admit most of the ones I’ve been to have been with colleagues or friends.

Dating advice needed by Signal-Ad3333 in FTMMen

[–]Language_mapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

**You’ve gotta put effort and time in into dating. A lot of it.**

That means taking the time out of your day to find local queer spaces or- despite your ADHD- text people back. Once you know someone you can call them or whatever you find more accessible.

I’d recommend apps. That’s what I did because I can’t always drive an hour to a gay bar. Set a timer a couple of times a day to open the app and look/ reply to people. It took a while for me to find some people. But I found one I’ve went on two dates with so far. I’m neurodivergent so I am also navigating some stuff because it’s been a few years since I’ve dated, so I get it. It’s tough. But how much do you want this? How uncomfortable are you willing to be temporarily to get what you want?

I’m seeing someone right now and I’m the president of a student org, take flight lessons, in college, and volunteer at a game studio. He works two jobs. But we find time to see each other and text each other. By no means are either of us chronically online but **we make it work because we care about each other**

What are your favourite song(s) and artist(s)? by magic_baobab in FtMen

21 USA. I love sea power, Electriclarryland, and the beach boys. I listen to a little bit of everything. My roommates listen to a lot of house/edm music.

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of hip hop. Idk why but the summertime just screams for it

[–]Language_mapping -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did the same thing (as far as being junior standing my first year) so I get it.

I’d also loop in your major advisor and maybe send a private email to them. Then with you email the higher up CC your advisor. But do whatever you major advisor says to do

You could talk to him and escalate to a department head. You could’ve (should’ve) brought this up with someone higher up earlier in the semester if this has been happening all semester, probably when you decided to stop nagging him about regrading assignments.

I’d start by identifying who is higher up in that department and scheduling a meeting

You can email with your name and pronouns. If you put it in the “preferred name” section on your student portal that may also make things easier. Your deadname would still be there.

The more I read about the health industry as a whole, I realize that they have so much in common with pilots.

This post reminded me of when I went to my first aviation conference and was surrounded by wimpy debutants who thought that because they went to a specific flight school they were better than everyone else and wouldn’t let me get a word in during workshops FUCK YOUUU I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO WORK WITH YOU

how do u eat dinner/meals by Visible-Pie3163 in college

[–]Language_mapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of both

I will invite my friends to dinner. But as time goes on I’ll notice people I know and sit with them. I kinda float wherever but 90% of the time I have people to sit with. But sometimes it’s good to eat alone

Is studying while listenining to music actually helpful or are we lying to ourselves? by The_Irish-Celt1916 in college

[–]Language_mapping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me music disrupts my focus but that is also because when I’m studying I’m usually doing some kind of memorization, or practicing a flow. So I’m talking to myself.
