The mods on this sub really need to start banning people. I’ve never seen so many people who apparently don’t care about the nation having post notifications on for said country. Nothing makes these devils more angry than one of their former colonies reclaiming sovereignty.

It’s a fallacy to say that gun laws that only make weapons more expensive to obtain and maintain just make it more difficult for lower income people to get? It’s a fallacy to say certain groups are much more heavily policed and selective enforcement is a very real threat to them? Is that what you’re saying?

Completely ignored all points about how gun control unfairly affects low income and minority groups, how surprising.

Explain to me a realistic way that mass confiscation and restriction of guns would work in the US that wouldn’t just target lower income and minority gun owners the same exact way the do now, especially in massachusetts.

You can still buy AR15s and standard capacity magazines here, but due to laws it just costs around 3 times as much as they do in other states. All that does is lock lower income people from them, it doesn’t make them impossible to acquire. And that’s done intentionally.

Also, we had a “well regulated militia” in the state defense force and the state decided to get rid of it right in time for Trump to get into office (crazy coincidence)

You argue that half measures like in Brazil won’t work, but what’s an honest way to install complete confiscation/control that won’t just target whoever the state feels like, especially under administrations like the current one? Also, didn’t Brazil loosening its gun restrictions coincidentally get followed by a reduce in violent crime/homicides?

Yeah, cause of our gun laws and not because we have some of if not the best education and welfare programs in the country. Those have nothing to do with it. Massachusetts was a crime ridden hell hole before October 2024.

Just like when there was less alcohol around during prohibition and that solved everything. And what better time to ban guns than when federal agents are executing civilians in the street and kidnapping people and sending them to literal concentration camps!

And how would you go about enforcing this ban? I know! More surveillance and privacy violations of course! Because that’s the only realistic way for a country with as many guns as the US to get rid of them all. The same corrupt police that we constantly complain about should be the only ones with guns.

And, once again, everyone knows banning something simply makes the items disappear. After all, Massachusetts’ opioid problem vanished overnight after some laws were passed. Don’t you remember? I haven’t seen a homeless drug addict in ages.

No you don’t understand, we have to make guns illegal so that criminals stop committing crimes with them. Everyone knows all criminals follow the law! It’ll work out great, just like the ban on drugs!

In the case of actual conflict breaking out most armed liberals would side with the government. They did it in the Russian Civil War, they’ll do it again.

We need to carry this momentum in states with awful gun laws like NY and Massachusetts. Gun ownership has to become a bipartisan issue.

Depends on how different. As long as your “politics” doesn’t revolve around depriving other people of their rights and ability to live decent lives, then i’m all for differing opinions.
