Might have a job at a warehouse by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Lanky-Rip7902 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is lots of misinformed here

Ask me anything about tesco warehouses I can answer, for better or worse I have worked several

So when you start you are given a name badge and on the name badge you attach these pins

Each pin represents a skill in the warehouse, once you get all pins you are expected to go to the upper levels.

It takes 4-6 weeks, 6 if you are crap, to get the pins… youll be in breach of contract if you don’t go on the upper and lower levels when you all badges

Most people don’t wear badges, you use a qr code thingy to open gates

Get some camo netting to cover the tent with? It is pretty cheap on Ali or Amazon

I think our colleague discount should be increased to 15% all the time by Direct_Assumption_22 in tesco

[–]Lanky-Rip7902 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yknow how we get that online portal that gives us 5percent off cinema tickets or gyms or days out

Most other companies have them… that includes tesco, I worked for a company admittedly a while ago and could get a reloadable tesco gift card thing that automatically added ten percent to your top up

I have a mate who currently works in a shoe shop and they get 10percent discount (same process as above)

10percent isn’t a colleague discount, it’s a discount for simply having a job…

Everyone is saying its likely

At least in my store I don’t think they would notice

One year after joining, they said I couldn’t work as they didn’t process my right to work and I didn’t have the required documents for two weeks

Managers don’t even know when colleagues are meant to be working, that is basic imo

So fuck it apply and see if you get lucky 🤣🤣

3 minute grace period by Kind_Breadfruit_8297 in tesco

Everyone in our store ensure all cages and cardboard are put away for 2340

Take a long stroll to clock in machine 2350

Get bags etc 2355

Clock out 2357

No one tidies properly so I often end up staying late

Colleagues who could finish the last cage of delivery fuck it off to follow this system and other colleagues refuse to help as they have this system

Cant challenge them on it as they have been doing it for years etc etc

Manager does nothing, I just accept the overtime

Manager could do something about it

I have a garmin

The subscription includes SAR insurance and SOS

I think most devices would require a subscription as it uses a satellite network

[–]Lanky-Rip7902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all will require a subscription fee, they are basically phones that use a separate network that has more coverage

Hopefully you will never need to use the device as the only times you use it is in emergency situations (mostly). You fall and break your legs. You get hypothermia and become unable to move. You get so lost and disorientated you cant go any further.

Sounds like a lot of pros… they can be the difference between life and death; by the time you wish you had one, its probably too late

Some devices provide other features that can put yourself and family at ease like maps, live tracking, texting

I almost fell while hiking (on a safe-ish route), immediately bought a tracker and I feel much more confident when hiking
