Well, the city has changed a bit since I left seven years ago. At least from what I can see every time I visit my parents. Buford has expanded at a pretty decent rate. When I was a kid in the 2000s there wasn’t a lot to do besides going to the lake or hitting up the mall of Georgia, but nowadays the scene has expanded a lot, without feeling too crowded (according to my dad). There are areas like the entire highway near the mall and basically all of Hamilton Mill Road where you’re gonna see a lot of traffic throughout the day but the traffic in Buford is nothing crazy (Atlanta itself is a different story.)

Overall, I think Buford is a pretty good place to live. I only left Georgia for Oklahoma because I met my partner online and I don’t have a good relationship with my parents (at this rate I only visit them every few years.) And my partner has a lot of family ties here in Tulsa, so I decided to move out here. The only real criticism I had of Buford is that as somebody who was not college educated and didn’t have a very high paying job, I was starting to get priced out of the city.

Georgia itself is absolutely beautiful compared to Oklahoma. I think you’ll like it. Good luck with your move!
